Sceptre new 27-inch gaming monitor 100Hz review

Design

Sleek and contemporary in design, the Sceptre New 27-inch Gaming Monitor offers a nearly borderless display for an engaging and immersive visual experience. You may tilt the screen of the monitor to get the best viewing angle thanks to its sturdy, adjustable aluminum stand. The monitor’s tilt angle is -5° to 15°, and the stand is reasonably solid. The screen can also be removed from the base and mounted using the 75x75mm design.

Ports

With many connectivity choices, such as DisplayPort and HDMI x2, the Sceptre New 27-inch Gaming Monitor may be used with a variety of devices. The monitor has a flicker-free backlight, and its OSD (On-Screen Display) menu offers a low-blue light filter function called “Blue Light Shift.” The power button and four hotkeys for navigating the OSD menu are located at the back of the monitor.

Display

With a VA panel, the Sceptre C325W-1920R boasts an excellent contrast ratio. Similar to the MSI Optix G27C, blacks appear deep in a dark room, which improves the image quality. After calibrating the monitor in the ‘User’ image mode, it displayed excellent color accuracy. Any discrepancies in the white balance and color dE are so faint that they are nearly hard to spot.

Brightness

In essence, the resolution is only about 82 PPI (pixels per inch), which is lower than the ~92 PPI of a 24′′ 1080p monitor. This means that the image may appear somewhat pixelated, and if you want to work with spreadsheets or numerous active applications at once, you may find that the screen real estate is insufficient.

Sceptre new 27-inch gaming monitor 100Hz Performance review

Playing games that are fast-paced and action-packed is made possible by the monitor’s 100Hz refresh rate and 1ms reaction time, which provide smooth and fluid gaming. In order to provide a fluid gaming experience, AMD FreeSync reduces screen tearing and stuttering, and 100% sRGB color gamut coverage guarantees accurate and rich colors.

Next, the monitor’s highest refresh rate of 100Hz offers a slight but discernible improvement in motion clarity for fast-paced video games. Additionally, when your frame rate (FPS) is higher than the 75Hz refresh rate, screen tearing becomes marginally less noticeable.

Therefore, if you’re a heavy gamer and your frame rate is more than 90FPS, we strongly advise purchasing a 144Hz gaming monitor, which falls within this price range.

Sceptre new 27-inch gaming monitor 100Hz Consumer review

This monitor is perfect for fast pace gaming. The 1MS MPRT is very helpful in helping me dominate my matches/games. The AMD Free Sync Premium comes in handy every now and then for my low fps games. This monitor can do 240hz but I was able to unclock it up to 270hz which is even better when gaming. Conclusion, this monitor makes for a great gaming experience for gamers that are looking for a fast pace and highly responsive gaming monitor.

While it is not as bright as some recent LED-backlit displays, with 250 nits, it is still rather noticeable in regular lighting circumstances.

Sceptre new 27-inch gaming monitor alternative

The LG 27UD58-B exhibits a notable superiority over the Sceptre C325W. Because of its IPS display, the LG 27UD58-B boasts improved viewing angles. Additionally, it features faster pixel response times and significantly less input lag. If you play games, the FreeSync VRR implementation is greatly appreciated. With its significantly higher resolution, the LG 27UD58-B can show more detail on the screen. However, the Sceptre C325W can be used in a space with a lot of small light sources because of its greater native contrast ratio, which produces deep blacks, and improved reflection handling.
