That’s a $200 price bump, although some might argue that this isn’t nearly as severe a price bump as we’ve seen on the company’s higher-end GPUs. The card also has a full cover backplate that features the same ridge and brushed finish but some of the area is slotted to see the PCB underneath and to let heat out via convection. The large cooler takes up nearly 3 slots. Power is provided by a single 8 pin inlet. Design It has a 2.7-slot footprint, meaning that in practical terms, the Asus Dual RTX 2060 Super O8G-EVO will take up three slots on your motherboard. While it’s a big beast, The Asus Dual RTX 2060 Super O8G-EVO is big – it measures 267 x 118 x 58mm, and features a chunky aluminium backplate designed to help stop the primary circuit board, trace pathways and other precious components from flexing and breaking. Ports The rear I/O bracket is only two slots but is fully vented even though very little air from the cooler will reach it. All ports are capped with rubber plugs out of the box. You get a pair of Display Port 1.4 connections and a pair of HDMI 2.0 and the humble DVI port makes a return as a single Dual-Link DVI-D port. Frame rate The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 is quite a step up from its predecessor. Equipped with 6GB of the latest 14Gbps GDDR6 video memory and 50% more CUDA cores, you’re looking at a much more capable graphics card. Whereas the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 was designed for 1080p gaming and could scrape by playing some games at 1,440p, the RTX 2060 has mastered high-frame rate Full HD gaming, delivering excellent 1440p results and somewhat playable 4K gaming hovering around 30 frames per second (fps). Temperature An advanced onboard controller brings fans to a standstill when the GPU core temperature is below 55 Celsius, letting you enjoy light gaming in relative silence. As temps rise past the threshold, the fans automatically start up again. Cooling Speaking of overclocking and cooling, the Asus Dual RTX 2060 Super O8G-EVO features two ‘axial tech’ fans, which have longer fan blades than previous designs to help keep everything cool. Power consumption The RTX Super at least owns the bragging rights for power consumption, as it saw a peak figure of 299.1 watts while running the Fire Strike Ultra benchmark, which undercuts the RX 5700 result of 327.6 watts. Gaming The Nvidia RTX 2060 is more than powerful enough to keep frame rates well north of 60fps in Full HD gaming, which is music to the ears of high-refresh-rate monitor owners. Meanwhile, it even delivers decent 4K gaming that hovers close to 30 fps in our benchmarks. With some tuning and overclocking, we were able to hit speeds of 2.7-2.8GHz, still without cooking the GPU. That's very impressive, though we're a bit sad that it 'only' has 2,560 GPU cores. Start with the Navi 21 GPU and then cut down the various functional units to create a smaller die that can sell at lower prices and you have AMD's Navi 22 and the RX 6700 XT. It has the same number of GPU cores as the previous generation RX 5700 XT, but significantly higher clock speeds and more cache give it about a 25% boost to performance (at higher settings and resolutions, at least). The real issue is the same as with everything else. Like other GPUs, the RX 6700 XT immediately sells out, even at radically inflated prices. Currently, the card goes for around $900 on eBay. That's better than both the 3060 Ti and 3070, at least, but far more than we'd recommend paying for what should nominally be a $500 high-end offering. In our performance testing, the RX 6700 XT trades blows with the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti. It's a bit faster than the latter, and a bit slower than the former, so the launch price of $479 seems okay. Except, if we include pretty much any games with DLSS or ray tracing, the 6700 XT starts looking more like a 3060 Ti competitor.
