Anker Nebula Capsule smart Wi-Fi mini projector review

Design

It is portable, elegant, and soda-can sized. The thin 1.5 pound device is 3.15 x 3.15 x 5.9 inches and very portable.

Ports

On the back, there are four notable sockets: a 3.5mm headphone jack, an HDMI 1.4 input, a USB type A port for flash drives, and a USB-C port for charging. The little voice-activated remote control will be your primary interface, however there are a few control buttons on the top and a power button on the back.

Control

The projector itself is shorter than the remote control. The black-on-black buttons are difficult to use in the dark, but an illuminated remote is probably too much to ask for the price.

Display

It has a fixed lens, like the majority of portable projectors, therefore there is no zooming in or out. It can produce images between 20 and 100 inches in size and has a throw ratio of 1.3:1. Anker advises a projection distance of 40 to 80 inches for optimal results, translating to a 36 to 71-inch on-screen image. Even though there is undoubtedly a little more sharpness and detail in Anker’s sweet spot, a 100-inch image still looks nice, especially given that this is not a high-res experience since it is just 720p.

Adjustment

It has a one-second autofocus feature that is simple to manually adjust even though it takes longer than one second. There is no automatic keystone feature, and the image does not move horizontally at all. Although the vertical plane can still be changed, this is not the ideal setup. Fortunately, setting up the device to project straight on in the first place rarely poses a significant challenge due to how small and simple it is to support.

Brightness

Although the projector’s 200 ANSI lumens of rated light output are respectable for its size, they are insufficient for use in spaces with any direct sunlight. Home projectors generally struggle in ambient light until they get close to 2,000 lumens in output. It’s better to keep any additional light to a minimum because the ambient light makes them appear washed out and robs any shadow detail.

Only slightly more expensive, with a 1,280×800 resolution and a measured 487 lumens, the AAXA P6X is around five times brighter.

Resolution

This projector is one of three Nebula Capsule projectors produced by Anker Innovations, and it is the highest-spec model of the trio thanks to its 720p resolution, 200 ANSI-lumens light output, and Android TV 9.0 smart platform.

Colors also function well. Although more commonplace elements like the grass and trees in the setting at the cemetery look appropriate, it’s simple to impress with these otherworldly hues. Given that the sole image parameter accessible is Color Temperature, this is kind of a relief. For the optimum performance from this device, select “Cool.”

Audio

When you set up to watch a movie, you can relax knowing that it features an adequate 5W speaker that is both loud and decently good. It has the extra advantage of lasting significantly longer than the typical three to roughly four hours it can operate in projector mode when used in Bluetooth Speaker mode, which is another method to use it. Despite being a tiny speaker in a tiny cabinet, it produces good sound. Even if it’s loudest, it’s still decent given the size and cost.

Battery life

For the authentic portable projector experience, there is an inbuilt battery that lasts 2.5 hours at low brightness. Compared to the AAXA’s 15,000 mAh, the Capsule’s battery has a storage capacity of only 5,200 mAh.

App

Along with a web browser and an app for mirroring content from iOS devices, the Nebula Manager Android app also offers a mobile version of Netflix. It’s not the best Netflix experience, though, as with other Nebula projectors. It can be bothersome since you can only navigate using the Nebula Controller app.

Similar to an Android TV, the menu items are projected, and you can use the device itself to navigate them if you’d rather. On the other hand, you may quickly connect the Capsule to a device, such as your computer, using the USB, HDMI, or USB-C connections.

Alternative of Anker Nebula Capsule smart Wi-Fi mini projector

ASUS ZenBeam E1 Portable LED Projector

If you frequently give presentations on the go or enjoy watching movies while travelling, the Asus ZenBeam E1 is a wonderfully designed pocket projector that is portable and lightweight.

Despite its small size, it features a built-in 6,000mAh battery that can power the projector for up to 5 hours, making it fairly versatile as you don’t have to worry about finding a plug socket to charge the gadget. It can project images up to 120 inches in size.

The projector can double as a power bank for other mobile devices, which is a really great touch. Although the Asus ZenBeam E1 portable projector isn’t the most powerful, its adaptability, simplicity of setup, and attractive appearance earn it a spot in our list of the best business projectors.

ViewSonic M1 mini Pocket LED Ultra-Portable Projector

Despite its compact size, the ViewSonic M1 has a respectable number of connections, making it a versatile and portable projector. This makes it simple to connect a variety of devices. The projector’s compact shape is attractive and makes carrying it along simple. The cost is reasonable as well.

Although its max brightness is a little too low and its low resolution means that image quality isn’t nearly as outstanding as some of its rivals, this can cause photographs to appear washed-out when used in bright conditions. The portable projector is still fantastic, especially for business presentations.

Anker Nebula Mars II Pro

Due to its light output, overall image quality, usability, and inexpensive pricing, the Mars II Pro is the greatest tiny projector choice available. Despite being a little larger than the majority of the portable projectors in this room, this transportable device is still small enough to fit entirely under a six-pack of Coke.

The 12,500 mAh internal battery may last for up to 3.5 hours, or more if used solely as a Bluetooth speaker. Because the Mars II has built-in programmes that treat it like a portable device, you can download content to its 8GB internal memory for offline viewing. Additionally, the faux-leather strap makes it quite simple to transport the outdoor projector.
