Price

The most affordable is the aforementioned HP Stream 11, a tiny, low-power notebook that costs just $199.99. The VivoBook 15 ($399.99) and MSI Modern 14 ($449.99) are similar to one another in terms of components, both good deals for what they offer but at different sizes. The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 (3505) is another 15-inch laptop, priced at $369 as tested, making it the second-cheapest alternative here next to the Stream.

ASUS laptop L410 ultra thin laptop 14 FHD display review

Build

The side bezels are looks so stylish. The body of the Ultrathin laptop is made of magnesium alloy, the keyboard is backlit and resistant to spills.

Design

This weight is typical for big tablets, small subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 10-11 inch display-diagonal. the laptop occupies the area of an A4 sheet and the thickness of the 1.3 mm case is comparable to the thickness of a conventional AA battery.  Being plastic, it’s lightweight at 2.87 pounds, and the chassis has a trim footprint at 0.72 by 12.8 by 8.5 inches (HWD) with a 14-inch display (measured diagonally).

Ports

The left flank holds one USB 2.0 port, a USB-C port, and an HDMI connection. The right edge holds one USB 3.0 port and an SD card slot. This isn’t a huge array of connections, but it’s more than the basics, and the days of super-restrictive ports on budget laptops may be behind us if even a system at this price meets more than the essentials. The system also supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Processor

The ASUS L410MA-DB02 is equipped with a rather sluggish Intel Celeron N4020 processor. It is a dual core, energy efficient CPU with a cache size of 4 megabytes and a thermal design power of just 6 Watts. Sure, it lacks the necessary power you may need in order to actually multitask, or run some more advanced software. Performance-wise, the Celeron doesn’t even compare with an Intel Core i3, but also doesn’t cost nearly as much.

Memory & storage

Storage space is also quite limited. The ASUS L410MA-DB02 is fitted with a 64-gigabyte eMMC drive. Not as fast as a solid state drive, it’s significantly quicker than any traditional hard drive. System memory is limited at 4 gigabytes of DDR4 SDRAM. You may think that it’s not enough, especially considering, especially considering the CPU’s shortcomings. Truth is ASUS have given the L410 enough system memory to aid in you in your everyday tasks.

Graphics

Integrated low-end graphics adapter with DirectX 12 support, which can be found in some ULV SoCs from the Gemini Lake series. Compared to the HD Graphics 500, the 600 offers improved display outputs. Compared to the faster UHD Graphics 605, the 600 offers less shaders at lower clock speeds.

Battery

After fully recharging the laptop, we set up the machine in power-save mode (as opposed to balanced or high-performance mode) where available and make a few other battery-conserving tweaks in preparation for our unplugged video rundown test. (We also turn Wi-Fi off, putting the laptop in airplane mode.) In this test, we loop a video—a locally stored 720p file of the same Tears of Steel short we use in our Handbrake test—with screen brightness set at 50% and volume at 100% until the system quits.

ASUS laptop L410 ultra thin laptop 14 FHD display Performance review

I found the basic functions (using Windows Explorer for files and simple web browsing) perfectly operational, with a very slight hang while navigating. Expect some wait times if you start opening up a lot of applications or browser tabs, but not much from simple use of a single undemanding application.

In graphics test, Unigine’s Superposition, similarly renders and pans through a complex 3D scene but measures results in frames per second (fps), with 30fps generally desirable for smooth animation while serious gamers prefer 60fps or more. We run the test at 720p and 1080p resolution with low and high visual quality settings, respectively.

You’ll probably feel that 64 gigabytes are not enough for your everyday needs. If you plan on hosting your personal photo gallery, or a significant number of large files, I’d recommend buying an additional 128-gigabyte or 256-gigabyte microSD card for you to permanently insert into the ASUS L410 to act as a secondary drive.

ASUS laptop L410 ultra thin laptop 14 FHD display customer review

Great little laptop for the price

Pros: – Small – Nice keyboard with backlight – Fast internet speeds for this kind of laptop – Gets the job done for productivity – Fast ram – And a nice USB C in connection, wasn’t expected

Cons: – Processor can get hot as it’s not hard to max it out – Small storage, but can get around with a simple external hard drive – Comes in S mode so until you deactivate that only things from the microsoft store can be downloaded.

Overall Review: This is a nice laptop for productivity and is worth the price, this can easily run office applications with a browser and something else open with ease. I love it and use it daily for numerous things.

REASONS TO BUY

+Attractive, premium chassis+Powerful performance+No bezels whatsoever+Excellent battery life

REASONS TO AVOID

-Lacks legacy ports

The Dell XPS 13 is a serious workhorse and the best premium laptop for college students. Powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, the notebook is ready for work or play. And with more than 11 hours of battery life, you’ve got plenty of time for both. The laptop consistently performed either better or on a par with competing systems.

But rest assured, the XPS 13 is just as pretty as it is powerful. The company managed to make a laptop that’s smaller and lighter than previous models. Despite the smaller size, Dell added some big changes, including a larger trackpad and keyboard. Plus, you get a 13.4-inch, near-bezelless display on every side –– the first in the world to do so.

It’s an exercise in patient restraint, improving the notebook in a bunch of small ways that add up to a big leap for the system. If you’re looking for the total package, the Dell XPS 13 is the laptop for you.
