Asus ZenWiFi XT9 AX7800 tri-band WiFi 6 mesh WiFi system (2 pack) reviews
Build & design
The Asus ZenWiFi XT9s are slightly larger than similar hardware like the Eero 6 Pro or D-Link M15, but slightly more compact than the Netgear Orbi RBK760 and Linksys Atlas 6. They measure 160 x 750 x 161.5 mm. The nodes are small, well-made, and have a high-end design.
Ports & connectivity
When you turn him over, you’ll see a single USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, three 1Gbps LAN ports, a 2.5Gbps (Gigabits per second) WAN port, and the DC power port. The WPS and reset buttons are located at the bottom, hidden by the rubber foot.
Antenna & band
Each unit has six internal omnidirectional antennae, and you can have up to three different Wi-Fi ‘networks’ at once. Wi-Fi 6 can operate at up to 574Mbps over the regular 2.4GHz frequency range, 2,402Mbps over the first 5GHz band (5GHz-1), and 4,804Mbps over the second 5GHz band (5GHz-2), for a total throughput of about 7,800Mbps.
The XT9 does support Wi-Fi 5 devices for up to 4,333Mbps of speed, as well as previous Wi-Fi protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac). Consoles, set-top boxes, and smart TVs may all benefit from speedier connections thanks to the three gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. Of course, if you use Ethernet backhaul, one will be used.
Chipset
Each ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 router contains a 1.7GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM6756 CPU, 512MB of DDR4 RAM, and 256MB of internal flash memory for operating system storage. It also has 512MB of DDR4 RAM. Two Broadcom BCM6756 processors will handle the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz-1 connections, while a Broadcom BCM6715 handles the more potent 5 GHz-2 link.
Speed
The ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 gives you the ability to fully utilize the 2.5Gbps internet service provider speeds for your compatible wired devices thanks to its 2.5Gbps WAN connector. By utilizing the LAN aggregation capability, you can additionally take advantage of cable speeds of up to 2Gbps. The 2.5Gbps and 1Gbps LAN connections on each node should be fast enough for most users if you want the most reliable speeds possible. The XT9 nodes also enable LAN link aggregation if you’re like that and aren’t using all the ports.
Coverage
With the latest Broadcom WiFi 6 chipset and ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology, WiFi signal range and total coverage are increased by up to 38%*, providing extensive coverage in areas up to 5700 square feet.
Data protection & Ai Mesh
You may grow your mesh network by adding more supported Asus routers thanks to the AiMesh capability offered by Asus. AiProtection Pro gives you excellent personal security capabilities (for which other companies would charge extra), and Asus Instant Guard gives any network you join VPN functionality by establishing an encrypted tunnel back to your home network. To protect the young, impressionable members of the family, you receive the standard features like parental control options, Quality of Service (QoS) settings, and guest network functions.
Smart voice integration
Additionally, there is some connection with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants; the most helpful commands are those that allow you to ask Alexa or Google to turn on Guest Wi-Fi or restart the devices.
Setup & Asus Router apps
The ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 makes it simple to set up a mesh network. Simply download the ASUS Router mobile app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones, and then adhere to the straightforward onscreen directions. If you are utilizing a 2-unit bundle, the primary router is one of the units and must be configured first before the second unit can be configured.
Asus ZenWiFi XT9 AX7800 tri-band WiFi 6 mesh WiFi system (2 pack) consumer reviews
Speed and distance tests are very good
This system was recommended by a friend I trust. I’m not an expert in this technology, but the setup was as easy as my friend stated. There were no issues. One router is in my basement, located about in the middle of my 1302 sq ft home. I get 250-450Mbps speeds inside the house. The 2nd router is out on my deck to cover the backyard and studio area. Backyard is about 5000 sq ft and i get speeds of 280Mbps at the alley 75 feet away from router. Obviously the closer to the router the faster the speeds. I get over 500Mbps when sitting on the deck 20 feet away from router. After a couple months of using the system, no issues, and it is very reliable.

Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500
The first Wi-Fi 6e router to hit the market was the Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500, and the results are astounding. The Nighthawk RAXE500 provides category-leading performance by adding a 6-GHz band to the already remarkable capabilities of Wi-Fi 6.
The tri-band gadget, with an AXE11000 rating, more than lives up to the hype by providing nearly 2.5 Gbps of actual data. The Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500 becomes one of the greatest routers we’ve ever examined, and arguably the quickest, when you combine this with its sleek design and numerous configurable choices.
The tri-band Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500 takes the lead as the first high-performance Wi-Fi 6e router by giving users access to a plethora of new data-delivery channels in the 6-GHz spectrum. The RAXE500 is fairly pricey, but if you require speed, it’s worth every penny even though it performs best at close range.
