Beelink SER3 Versatile mini pc Windows 10 Pro AMD Ryzen 7 3750H review

Design

The SER3 3750H is a compact mini PC that’s designed for hybrid use.  At 126 x 113 x 40mm, it is mightily compact (although not as compact as some Nano PCs like the Chuwi Lark Box) and made almost entirely of metal. The housing is constructed from black aluminum, and is quite durable.

Ports

Port options are exactly the same as on the Beelink SEi10. The USB-C port supports DisplayPort-out, but it would strangely only work with some and not all of our external monitors.

Processor

Inside the Beelink SER is an AMD Ryzen 7 3750H. This is a quad-core mobile processor with eight threads and a Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics cluster. It has a 6MB cache and can run at up to 4GHz without breaking a sweat

Memory & Storage

The SER3 3750H ships with either a 256GB or 512GB M.2 SSD, depending on your selection. This M.2 SSD drive is significantly smaller than other types of drive, which allows it to fit the small housing. The motherboard can support up to a 1TB drive, so there’s also room for an upgrade. In addition, there’s an empty 2.5-inch drive bay underneath the motherboard. This will support an additional SSD drive, with up to 1TB in capacity.

Transfer rate

The SER3 Sequential read and write rates reveal the drive to be a midrange NVMe offering. Transfer rates will slow over time when stressed from 1900 MB/s to 1400 MB/s or slower due to thermal limitations.

Temperature

Core temperature is relatively cool at only 56 C when running Witcher 3 compared to 62 C on the Intel NUC11TNKi5 Pro. CPU clock rates would boost to 3.3 GHz for the first minute or so until reaching a core temperature of 78 C. Clock rates would then fall to 3.0 GHz in order to maintain a cooler core temperature of 72 C.

Power Consumption

Power consumption varies according to the state of CPU. At idle condition, it consumes 5.7 Watts, during video playback it takes upto 18.4 Watts and in benchmark test, it may consume upto 37.5 Watts – 40 watts.

MINIX NEO N42C-4

Pros:
  • easily customizable
  • great price
  • 4k uhd @ 60hz
  • business-friendly
Cons:
  • some users reported it to be dead on arrival

The Neo has been painstakingly designed to provide the most stunning home cinema experience possible. Powered by Windows 10, the Neo is capable of outputting crystal clear 4K @ 60 Hz. Going a step further, the engineers at MINIK have embedded a proprietary suite of technologies that improve upon the 4K standard and further enhance the already ultra-sharp images.

The MINIX Neo N42C-4 is a great choice if you’re simply looking to stream. The ability to browse the web, play breathtaking ultra HD content, access KODI, Skype and more is packed inside a 5-inch square that’s less than 1-inch tall!

All these cutting-edge enhancements, however, would be worthless without robust connectivity. A spotty connection can easily ruin an otherwise pleasant streaming experience. No corners were cut when it comes to the high-tech antenna architecture found in the MINIX Neo N42C-4. The designers have used the latest 802.11ac technology. An array of dual-band antennas covers 2.5GHz and 5.0GHz resulting in lightning-fast and highly-stable connections.
