The $599 Eero Pro 6 system has three stylish low-profile nodes. Their dimension is 5.6 in x 5.4 in x 1.9 in (142 mm x 138 mm x 48 mm). Each node provides 2,000 square feet of wireless coverage. Hardware
The nodes are equipped with two auto-sensing gigabit LAN ports and a power port. Under the hood are a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, 1024MB of RAM, 4GB of flash memory, and a Bluetooth radio. They lack the USB connectivity and multi-gig capabilities that you get with the Asus ZenWiFi AX XT8.
Internet Speed
Amazon says that the regular Eero 6 system is designed for homes with internet speeds of up to 500 megabits per second, while the faster Eero Pro 6 system is built to take advantage of gigabit speeds, complete with a tri-band design that features an extra 5GHz band to keep network transmissions between Eero devices separate from your regular internet traffic.
Data transfer rate
At a distance of 37.5 feet, the Eero Pro 6’s top transfer rate of 1,008Mbps fell slightly to 922Mbps, and at 75 feet, it had only dropped to 838Mbps. That means that the wireless speeds at 75 feet were about 83% as fast as the wireless speeds at 5 feet. That’s a great result, and the strongest “range ratio” we’ve ever seen from a mesh router in this test.
Setup
Setting the system up was a cinch, thanks to the Eero app, which walks you through the process with clear, simple instructions and helpful guidance on how to pick the best spots for your devices. Plug the Eero Pro 6 into your modem, press “go” in the app and you’ll be up and running within minutes.
From there, the app lets you see the devices on your network, and it can notify you if something new joins.
App
It supports Amazon Wi-Fi Simple Setup, which uses settings from Amazon Echo devices and Fire TV Sticks to help configure new devices quickly and easily. The Pro 6 uses the same Android and iOS mobile app as the 2019 Eero system, and supports Alexa voice commands that let you do things such as turn guest networking on and off and pause network access for specific clients.

Eero satellite node scores of 455Mbps on the close proximity test was the slowest of the pack, while the ZenWiFi AX XT8 led with a score of 675Mbps. On the 30-foot test, the Eero satellite node garnered 353Mbps, trailing the Deco X60 (386Mbps) and the Velop AX4200 (413Mbps). The ZenWiFi AX XT8 blew them all away with a score of 619Mbps.
The Eero Pro 6 is a good performer, but not a class-leading one. The main router’s score of 701Mbps on the close proximity (same room) throughput test trailed the Linksys Velop AX4200 by 11Mbps and the TP-Link Deco X60 router by 57Mbps, and was 159Mbps slower than our leader, the Asus ZenWiFi AX XT8. On the 30-foot test, the Eero router’s score of 230Mbps lagged behind the Deco X60 (290Mbps) and Velop AX4200 (299Mbps), and was significantly slower than the ZenWiFi AX XT8 (347Mbps).

Does Eero Pro 6 system auto recognize devices in home or office?
Since almost no other devices that I have are WiFi 6, yet everything is working perfectly, I would say it is backwards compatible. Now there could be something out there that is so old that it cannot. But each device so far is running at its maximum capacity. Signal is very strong all over a 5200 sq home. Even in the farthest corners.
Does it work with Verizon FIOS?
I have both and the setup was incredibly simple. Follow the mobile app instructions and it will guide you through. The only thing I recommend is plugging in the eero from the FIOS modem, then plugging in an extender to the eero if you need multiple Ethernet connections. Then everything is on the eero network vs. the FIOS network. They can’t see each other if they are on different networks.
