The Eureka Flash Lightweight Stick Vacuum pros/cons
PROS
Cord – 30 foot cord that I can plug into one outlet, and do my whole main floor. Of course each house is different, so your millage may vary. Either way, it has a lot of cord to give you a lot of freedom. Not having to worry about charging batteries, or worrying about the battery dying while I’m vacuuming is great. Full power all the time without battery worries is awesome! Yes you need to deal with the cord, but it really doesn’t get in the way that much, and in my opinion the cord is much less of a hassle than dealing with batteries.
Suction – I have found the suction of this vacuum to be great. We’re talking about a stick vacuum here, so don’t expect the same power as a full upright vacuum. That being said, it does great on our hardwood floors, and it even does well on carpet.
Two in One – I really like being able to easily disconnect the roller brush section and suck things up that hide in nooks and crannies while on the go. This has come in handy more than I thought it would.
Swivel – I didn’t think I would care about the swivel feature of the roller brush section. I was wrong. The swivel feature is awesome! Not sure how I lived without it in the past. Great for getting in and around tight areas.
Attachments – I have not used the attachments very much, but they seem like they should work very well when needed. My last vacuum did not have attachments, so I welcome the added versatility the attachments give this vacuum.
Filter/Dust Bin – The dust bin seems to be large enough to hold everything from one round of vacuuming. I dump it every time I’m done, so its size works well for me. If you like to vacuum multiple times before dumping the dust bin you might find it isn’t big enough. That being said, we have two cats, so the dust bin might fill up faster for me than it does for you if you are furry pet free. The filter seems to work well, but it does have a small con I will list below.
CONS
LED lights – The LED lights are not very bright. Seems like they could have just left them off if they weren’t going to put bright ones on there. I could see where they might want to conserve power on a cordless vacuum, but there is no reason to conserve power on a corded vacuum. They should have either spent the extra $2 on parts and went with extra bright LED lights, or just leave them off. The LED lights weren’t a big deal to me anyway so I don’t care that they’re dim, but if you were buying this vacuum so you could vacuum in dark places without the lights on you might want to order a flashlight too.
Filter – This is a minor thing, and one I knew about before ordering, so it isn’t a big deal to me. The filter is not a HEPA filter. It would have been nice if it was. I’m sure if it had a HEPA filter the suction would have been reduced, so I guess you need to decide which is more important to you. If you need a HEPA filter this isn’t your vacuum.

Design
Assembled Eureka NES510 Flash features physical dimensions of 11.1 x 7.9 x 45 inches (~28.2 x 20 x 114.3 cm) and it weighs just 7.4 pounds (~3.35 kg).
The unit is powered by a 500-watt motor which creates good suction across 11 inches (~28 cm) wide cleaning path – maximum suction is ~15kPa, which is more than enough for thorough cleaning. The power cord is 30 feet (~9.15 m) long, providing the user with a long cleaning range using just a wall power socket.
Lightweight
Right away, the first thing that needs to be mentioned is the fact that this stick vacuum is extremely light. It weighs only 6.3-pounds, which is so much lighter than many other stick vacuums. Because of this, picking this stick vacuum up and moving it around is a nearly effortless process.
To go along with this, the body of the stick vacuum is small and compact. It lacks the bulk and heft of many other vacuum cleaners. Picking the vacuum up and moving it around is extremely easy, and so is storing the vacuum.
Multi-Surface Cleaning
Eureka has designed this stick vacuum for multi-surface vacuuming. That way, instead of being restricted to only cleaning hard floors, you can also clean soft floors. But, along with that, due to the mobility this stick vacuum offers, you can also vacuum on non-floor surfaces with incredible ease.
Much of this multi-surface vacuuming functionality comes from the suction power this stick vacuum offers and the floor head that it uses. While the suction power this stick vacuum offers isn’t on the same level as that of a larger upright vacuum, it is still very powerful. By having this suction power, you can vacuum on carpets and rugs, assuming they aren’t too thick, with ease.
Where much of this multi-surface cleaning power comes from is the floor head. If you look at this floor head, you’ll notice that it consists of a brush roll. On this brush roll, there are many different brush bristles.
While this floor head is moving across your floors, the brush bristles gather up and remove the dirt, dust, and debris that is in your path. But, along with that, these brush bristles also loosen up and remove dirt, dust, and debris from rugs and carpets. That way, all of that material comes to the surface, and is then removed.
Extremely Mobile
As mentioned in the previous section, this stick vacuum is very lightweight. Because it weighs so little, moving it around is very easy. But, to go along with that, Eureka has included a few very useful features, all of which aid in creating a far more mobile and efficient vacuuming experience.
One of the most notable mobility features is that of swivel steering. This swivel steering feature allows you to swivel the stick vacuum in various directions. If you want to swivel the stick vacuum behind a couch or through a tight corner, then you can do so using the swivel steering feature.
With the press of a button, you can turn this stick vacuum into a handheld vacuum. By turning this stick vacuum into a handheld vacuum, you can vacuum on just about any surface and in nearly any space.
If you want to vacuum on a couch or a bed, to name two examples, the handheld vacuuming mode lets you do that. If you want to vacuum underneath a couch or behind your stove, then you can do that, too. The handheld vacuuming mode is exceptionally useful for all kinds of vacuuming purposes.
Two Useful Tools
Inside of the box this stick vacuum comes in, you’ll find two tools. These tools are the crevice tool and the dusting brush. Neither of these tools is particularly unique, but they are very useful for certain vacuuming tasks.
For vacuuming in tight and narrow crevices, the crevice tool is extremely useful. If you want to remove dust that’s been layered onto hard surfaces, the dusting brush is a great tool to have access to.
