They are not as finely machined as some Austrian/American collets that I have, but they do the job. Several collets were tested in my collet chock which has a one ten thousandth run out with drill rod. The run out was only a few ten thousandths, which is pretty damn good! As the Chinese stuff goes, these are better than usual.’

HHIP 3900-3009 Parallels Set tools
These precision parallels are recommended for layout work, standards and set-up. Case hardened RC 55 to 62 on 2 sides, top and bottom only. The holes are designed for easier handling and set-ups. Place a parallel against each vise jaw & rest your workpiece on top. Parallels raise your work piece within the vise allowing more clearance for cutting tools. The holes in their sides are useful for clamping parallels for extra support.

This comes with 3 Boring Head, R8 Shank and 8 Boring Bars. The included indexable boring bars come with TCMT 21. 5 C6 carbide inserts for steel and alloy. The set also comes with torx & l-shape hex wrenches and a fitted carrying case. 1 DIV = 0. 001 which means when turning the dial by 1 division/graduation, on the 0-100 dial, the boring head’s travel is 0. 0005″ in radius movement, 0. 001″ in diameter movement.

Works great. Adjust the length of the D1-4 studs, find and locate the best position relative to the spindle and the 3-point fixing. Good craftsmanship, with biting on sole. Some “stuff” for a very reasonable price.
