What is the difference – TicWatch Pro 3 vs Galaxy Watch 3
Build
TicWatch Pro 3
The watch case is made of dual-texture stainless steel. The sides of the case have a matte finish while the bezel portion surrounding the display has a glossy sheen.
Galaxy Watch 3
If you opt for the smaller 41mm device you’ll have the choice of Mystic Silver or Mystic Bronze colors. Both of these also come with leather straps, so whichever size and color combo you opt for you’ll have to spend extra on another strap if you want a more fitness-friendly silicone material.
Design
You can only get the TicWatch Pro 3 in Shadow Black, and it comes with a 22mm silicone strap with orange stitching, though this is interchangeable due to the universal design.
in Galaxy Watch 3, the bezel holds up a second time around, but feels even better because Samsung slimmed down the Galaxy Watch 3. It’s 8% smaller, 14% thinner and 15% lighter than the first Galaxy Watch.
Light weight
The TicWatch Pro 3 is 0.4mm thinner than its direct predecessor and 28% lighter. Both variants of the watch come in stainless steel, with the 45mm weighing 53.8g and the 41mm 48.2g. There’s also a new extra-light titanium model, which is only available in the 45mm size and weighs 43g.
Display – TicWatch Pro 3 vs Galaxy Watch 3
TicWatch Pro 3
The 1.4-inch OLED display is sharp, vivid, and responsive to touch controls. The TicWatch Pro’s defining feature is its dual-display. It pairs a 1.4-inch AMOLED panel with a transparent Film Compensated Super Twisted Nematic (FSTN) LCD display.
Galaxy Watch 3
You’re getting a 1.2-inch (41mm) or 1.3-inch (45mm) Circular Super AMOLED panel, with a full-color always-on display. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3’s 360 x 360-pixel screen is sharp, bright enough to see in direct sunlight and always-on, but that’s not what caught my interest.
Processor
Ticwatch Pro 3 comes with the Mobvoi Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor and 1GB of RAM, which makes it the highest spec Wear OS smartwatch out there.
Galaxy Watch 3 comes with faster Samsung Exynos 9110
Dual-core, 1.15GHz process and offer you more options.
Wear OS
Samsung’s Tizen OS generally can’t beat Google’s Wear OS. When it comes to practicality, I will always choose the Wear OS because it’s just better.
For example, let’s talk about apps you can download off their respective app stores. On the Google Play Store, you can download apps like Google Maps, Google Keep and Google Translate.
Charging
For charging, you get a charging pad included in the box, and the device is also compatible with Qi wireless chargers if you want to get a couple more to place around your home or work. For the optimum charging performance, we’d recommend using the charger in the box, but Qi pads will also work just fine.
Battery life
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 doesn’t have the dual layer screen feature that the Ticwatch Pro 3 has and therefore I generally charge the smartwatch every day, even though you could get by with charging it every two days.
The Ticwatch Pro 3 is a smartwatch that I charge every two days, although it will definitely last longer.
What are the Similarities – TicWatch Pro 3 vs Galaxy Watch 3?
Rotating Bezel
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has a rotating bezel, which makes navigation through menus and messages a lot easier than the Ticwatch Pro 3, which does not even have a crown.
Voice assistant
Samsung’s Bixby just isn’t as good as Google Assistant. If we had to anthropomorphize these voice assistants, Google Assistant is much better at languages than Bixby and therefore interprets what you say much more fluently.
The excellent speech to text system on the Google Wear OS also means that you don’t get funny transcriptions when you reply to messages. Though I have noticed Bixby improving quite a bit over the last year or so, so it’s not that bad, but Bixby still can’t compete with Google or Apple’s trailblazing voice assistants.
Health apps
The Mobvoi model genuinely places particular emphasis on wellbeing & fitness monitoring. Not similar to many other smart wearable brands, this brand has committed to building up its own set-up of software; that is why you will enjoy using an application for pulse sensing, sleep monitoring, noise level tracking, work out, stress level monitoring, as well as blood oxygen level tracking.
In terms of sports, you may like that the Mobvoi product unit’s TicExercise integrates seamlessly into the dual-layer display. Data from that application is shown on that display, being exceptionally power-saving.
How about the Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch? Its set-up of applications is far simpler. Noise level tracking is not available. Moreover, albeit this model comes with a blood oxygen level sensor, such tracking is not accessible in some countries such as South Africa, Japan, and France.
Not losing in the game, Samsung boasts a comparative ecosystem, with S Health as the most important point to address. When it comes to Mobvoi, this brand has introduced a Mobvoi application that turns into the focal point of every one of your fitness monitoring information. What makes Samsung’s exercise monitoring mode and Mobvoi’s TicExercise different is, more workout options are available on the Samsung – for example, diverse rec center exercises.
The Galaxy Watch 3 has a FDA-approved ECG monitor, meaning the new smartwatch will be able to detect signs of atrial fibrillation just like the Apple Watch. Advertisement
While the Apple Watch’s FDA-approved ECG sensor is old news (it debuted with the Apple Watch Series 4), Samsung has been slow to get its version approved, first earning clearance for the technology on the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in South Korea.
Alternate of TicWatch Pro 3 vs Galaxy Watch 3
There’s also the Fitbit Sense for $329. It offers superior biometrics tracking and even longer battery life, though the software experience is a little lacking. You may instead want to look at the Fitbit Versa 3, which offers the core Fitbit experience for a little less without losing much overall. Meanwhile, the $305 Garmin Vivoactive 4 is our favorite fitness-focused smartwatch in this price bracket.
