What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is the most common form of joint disease with more than 50% of adults over the age of 65 affected, and it can affect any joint in the foot. Having Arthritis or osteoarthritis means you’re at much greater risk of developing foot and leg problems. It can also cause bone enlargement. As people get older, osteoarthritis can be linked to changes in the shape of feet which leads to the associated symptoms.

It’s vital to keep your lower leg muscles pumping to relieve or prevent these symptoms – and Revitive could be a key part of your osteoarthritis treatment plan.

These symptoms include discomfort in the legs including aching legs and painful feet, swelling or puffiness in the joints, reduced mobility, muscle weakness and joint stiffness. Osteoarthritis in the feet often accompanies osteoarthritis in other joints, such as knee arthritis.

What are the common treatment except drugs?

Below are the most commonly used treatment procedure without having drugs. How does Revitive help with Arthritis? Revitive uses Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) technique.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS): a small machine that sends tiny electric shocks, through pads placed on your skin, to relieve pain. TENS machines aren’t suitable for everyone, so talk to your doctor before using one.

Manual Therapy: Consists of several techniques and stretches performed by physiotherapists. Manual therapy can be an effective treatment to increase the quality and range of movement of the hip.

Heat therapy: Ice packs and heat packs, such as a hot water bottle or a bag of frozen peas, can relieve some of the pain and stiffness in your hip. But be careful not to put ice or heat packs directly on your skin as they could cause burns. Make sure to wrap them in a damp tea towel or cloth.

Hyaluronic acid injections: hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and helps to lubricate joints. These injections aren’t available on the NHS as they’ve not been proven to be an effective treatment for osteoarthritis.

Acupuncture: is a technique where very fine needles are inserted at specific points in your skin. While there is no evidence that acupuncture is an effective treatment for hip osteoarthritis, some people find that it helps them.

Supplements: There’s a wide range available, including fish oils, turmeric, glucosamine and chondroitin. There’s very little evidence on how well they work, but some people do feel benefits from them.

How does Revitive work with Arthritis?

With its unique DualAction REVITIVE Arthritis-Knee works in two ways:

It features a patented IsoRocker that allows for natural ankle movement when applying the EMS to your feet. Ankle movement is a key factor in increasing circulation in the lower legs. You can choose to enable or disable the IsoRocker at any time.

It also delivers Electrical Muscle Stimulation to the front of the thighs/quadriceps through the use of the Arthritis (Electrode) Pads – to strengthen the quadriceps. Strengthening your quadriceps muscles may help to:

It delivers Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to your feet via a pair of cushioned foot-pads, while you are seated. The EMS causes muscles in your calf and foot to contract, which helps to increase circulation in your legs.

• Support and stabilise the knee
• Reduce stress on the knee
• Relieve knee pain

To get the most out of REVITIVE, it is recommended that you use:

• REVITIVE foot-pads for 20-30 minutes each day.
• REVITIVE Arthritis Pads on the thigh of your affected leg (knee) once a day for 20 minutes, 5 days per week.

How does Revitive Medic Thigh pad help with Arthritis?

The Revitive Osteoarthritis-Knee is only compatible with the Thigh Pads. The stimulation program that is used for the thigh output on this device has been designed with the intention of targeting muscle response in the quadriceps muscles – the large muscle group in the front of the thigh. The intention is to strengthen these muscles and as a result this could support the knee and relieve the issues associated with Osteoarthritis in the knee. As such the stimulation would not be of optimal benefit if used elsewhere as it may overwork the muscles. In addition, the Revitive Osteoarthritis Knee only uses EMS through the thigh pads.

Does Revitive Medic Knee help with Arthritis – which programme should I choose?

Revitive Medic Knee is a new solution for people suffering from knee pain, including arthritis pain.

TENS Program

Designed to block chronic pain, and pain associated with arthritis. Using the smaller electrode body pads applied around the knee joint, the TENS Program stimulates sensory nerves that trigger a natural pain relief response. We recommend using the TENS Program for 20-30 minutes per session for immediate pain relief and can be used as and when required.

Knee Program

With large re-usable Thigh electrode pads and a unique Knee Program, it is specifically designed to strengthen your thigh muscles which may help to support and stabilize the knee. We recommend using the Knee Program and Thigh Pads on the affected leg for 20 minutes, once a day, 5 days a week.

Medic Foot-Pad Program

Using the same patented program as the Medic model. The patented electrical muscle stimulation from the foot-pads increases the oxygen-rich blood flow in your legs and feet. Use daily for 30 to 60 minutes to relieve aching legs, cramps and to help get you back on your feet again.
