Eufy vs Hikvision camera comparison – difference

Design

A 16GB microSD card, two magnetic camera mounts, screws, a HomeBase E hub, and power adapter are all included with the EufyCam E. The hub resembles the hub that came with the original EufyCam exactly. Its dimensions are 5.0 by 5.1 by 2.7 inches (HWD), and it connects to the cameras through 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and RF radios.

Hikvision Turret IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera is a super wide wide WIDE angle camera, almost to the point of a Fish-eye camera with a little distortion on the edges and a difficult horizon to aim cameras on. But other than that, these 4mp cams are unbelievable at day or night the clarity is only limited to the monitor you use.

Night vision

Excellent night vision is a feature of the EufyCam E. In the dark, night vision offered enough of illumination, providing sharp, vivid images. You may zoom in by pinching the image when you need a closer look at a person or object, which might be important in crime scene evidence.

Hikvision Turret IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera has much better night vision range, and you don’t have to clean them that often. Anytime it rains hard, the domes get water spots that cause fuzziness while in night mode. The Turret does not have that issue.

Field view

Hikvision Turret IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera comes with a built-in 2.8mm fixed lens which provides 106° angle of view. In addition, with its built-in EXIR LED infrared illuminator you can see up to 100 feet at night.

The EufyCam E is a 1080p camera with a wide 140-degree field of view. It uses two infrared LEDs to provide up to 33 feet of night vision and has a built-in 100dB siren.

Image quality

Hikvision Turret IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera produces wonderful daytime picture/video. The night time picture/video is significantly better than the cheap cameras I’ve had before. In FufyCam E, daytime recordings are clear with 1080p resolution.

CMOS sensor

The Hikvision and Eufy both have a 1/3″ CMOS sensor. You need to step up to a more expensive Hikvision model to get a larger sensor. The Darkfighter series even have 1/2″ sized sensors. The size of the sensor has a huge bearing on the low light ability of a camera, whether it be a camcorder or a security camera.

Audio

We were able to speak through the eufyCam E’s speakers while also recording audio using our iPhones. It’s helpful to have two-way audio, especially if you set the EufyCam E outside. Hikvision is missing this function.

Power

Hikvision Turret IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera needs POWER. If you are planning on mounting be sure you know how you are going to get power to the camera. You can either power the camera with a power outlet (12v DC plug is usually NOT included) or PoE (Power over Ethernet).

All the Eufy cameras have in common is their decently long battery lives. The EufyCam 2C has a 180-day battery life, and the EufyCam E and Eufy Cam 2 lasts an impressive 365-days on a single charge.

Storage

Hikvision Turret IP Outdoor Surveillance Camera

Using HIKVISION recording products with your camera, both NVR’s and DVR’s, ensure end-to-end video encryption. HIKVISION also provides the iVMS-4500 mobile application where you can save live videos or play back on your mobile device with just one click. Included with the camera is our free iVMS-4200 client software.

Eufy

The eufy camera can record offline using microSD cards, and when connected to a network, the recordings will automatically sync. They can then be viewed on the eufySecurity App.

Eufy vs Hikvision camera Alternative

Reolink Argus PT

The Reolink Argus PT camera is powered by a 6,500mAh battery and a 5V solar panel to provide full home protection. Motion-activated footage can be sent over 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi and is stored locally on a 128GB microSD card.

The 105-degree wide camera is on a 355-degree pan and 140-degree swivel mount, so you have a flexible range of view. Combined with two-way audio and apps for Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac, you have a seriously smart home security option.
