C34 R1500 Ultrawide – great features/quality/price
Ordered from Amazon. Sceptre product packaging was great and sturdy. Included a screwdriver and Dataport cable. The stand is very good, in fact, the entire build quality is amazing at this price point. Running 3440×1440. Very productive for work with all the real estate. I love the joystick to control the OSD.
The speakers sound OK. I haven’t really pushed them on gaming as my test time was very late last night. I have run a half dozen games of Rocket League from EPIC game launcher. Tweak the resolution, push the monitor settings for performance, and tweak my in game camera settings a bit, and it was a very good experience. Also played Amazon Prime Video and Netflix videos.
Amazon dies on Chrome…couldn’t make the plugins work, but didn’t try too hard. Netflix just worked and Prime ran fine in Microsoft Edge. Also ran a Teams call this morning which worked great, although I had to tweak the sound setting to use the onboard speakers. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

This 34-inch Alienware is unique because it combines Samsung’s Quantum Dot color technology with OLED technology. It’s truly difficult to top with its excellent gaming performance and quality, amazing color and tonal accuracy (especially in the deep shadows, where OLED is weak), full HDR compatibility, a USB hub, a good set of controls, and an exceptional three-year warranty against burn-in.
It’s not great; to name a few nitpicks, it lacks speakers, albeit the ones that come with monitors are usually quite crappy. I’m also not excited about how the cables are organized and connected. However, it’s unquestionably a great option overall.
Alienware released a follow-up model in September 2023 called the AW3423DWF. This model is essentially the same as the original and is slightly less expensive, but it supports VESA Adaptive-Sync and FreeSync Pro in place of G-Sync.
It also has two DP connectors and one HDMI, as opposed to the older model’s two, and it has 120Hz VRR when connected to a console. Since it doesn’t have the additional overhead of the G-Sync silicon, there may be some other adjustments (it apparently can mount closer to a wall using a VESA mount, for example).
Conclusion
In this implementation, it has minimal to no response and input lag issues and offers wider angles and punchier colors than the VA option. That is definitely a victory in our book.
Sceptre has developed an extremely strong feature set. Right now, the superwide 1440p resolution and 144Hz refresh rate are the sweet spot for high-end gaming specs. Depending on your demands and preferences, the extras like the lustrous RGB LED lighting and sleek design may further sweeten the pot.
