Design & Connections
It is enormous in comparison to the 8.5 x 7.5 x 1.5-inch TP-Link Archer C2300 at 9.4 x 9.4 x 2.8 inches, but it is roughly the same size as the company’s Archer C5400X. To best target the GT-AX11000’s signal, the router’s eight screw-on antennae may rotate and swivel, but there’s a chance it will appear like a coat rack.
It has a quad-core, 1.8 GHz CPU that can access 1GB of DDR3 SDRAM and 256MB of NAND memory. Four 1 GB Ethernet ports, a 2.5 GB Ethernet port, and a WAN port are among the connectors. Processor
With the help of Broadcom’s BCM43684 Wi-Fi chip, it establishes WiFi 6, or tri-band 802.11ax, as a network. It is capable of utilizing the most recent wireless technologies, such as dynamic frequency selection, orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), and the flexibility to select any of the 15 5GHz bands for the best signal.
The chip includes 256MB of firmware and settings space, 1GB of RAM, and a quad-core 1.8GHz processor. With the potential to push 4.8 GHz on each of its two 5GHz transmission bands and 1.2 GHz on its 2.4GHz channel, this router is incredibly fast. A maximum of 10.8Gbps is specified for wireless devices equipped with 802.11ax technology. However, as there are now very few 802.11ax devices on the market, it will take some time until the GT-AX11000 and other comparable routers achieve their maximum potential.
Speed
There is a maximum of 1148 Mbps for the older 2.4 GHz frequency and 4804 Mbps for the 5 GHz band. Using OFDMA with beamforming and 160 MHz-wide data lanes, peak theoretical throughput is attained.

With regard to the gaming features, the GT-AX11000 is equipped with tri-band frequencies out of the box. Asus advises using one of the two 5 GHz bands exclusively for gaming in order to prevent any congestion.
Next, there is Triple Level Acceleration, which gives the Gaming Port priority; Game First V, which is client-side traffic shaping; Game Boost, which is Asus’ term for adaptive quality of service for gaming priorities; and WTFast, which is a private network for gamers. That’s right, four. It might be more appropriately called quadruple level acceleration.
Setup
The eight router antennae must first be manually screwed in for the GT-AX11000 to be configured. We connected and plugged in the necessary wires, then launched the browser on our PC and followed the setup instructions, which included creating a wifi password.
Privacy & protection
Trend Micro’s integrated security, which provides AiProtection Pro to the router for complete network protection, is included in the GT-AX11000. Numerous features are offered, such as the ability to block infected devices and perform a router security evaluation to identify weaknesses.
Asus Rog Rapture Apps
I connected to the router after downloading and installing the Asus Router app on my iPad Pro and adjusting its Wi-Fi configuration to the router’s default network (“Asus_90_2G”). I allowed the router to configure itself, although do-it-yourselfers can also use the manual way.
Although it doesn’t have the robust security app like its rivals, the GT-AX11000’s Security Scan can identify security holes. It checks for everything, including the use of encryption, the DMZ feature, and password strength, based on Trend Micro software. Although it is not as comprehensive as the security add-ons included with the Norton Core and F-Secure Sense routers, it is capable of blocking dangerous websites.

EASY INSTALLATION AND BOOSTED SPEEDS!
I have had this router for about 2 weeks and I have noticeable noticed the increased speeds. I had a good router before and the areas that already experienced good speeds only showed a slight/moderate increase in speeds and signal strength. I will focus my review on the 2 areas where my signal/strength was horrible. I have a decent size lot by city standards and I had a terrible signal in the rear yard, during the summer I had a speaker connected to my wifi and I had a wifi projector that always had a buffering issue when streaming. Prior to installing the ROG ASUS router my distance was 44 feet from the router and it travelled the thru the residential structure and download speed was 18mb and 28% strength and after the ROG router it went up to 46mb and 66% strength. It alone doesn’t look like great numbers but thats a huge increase and im FAR from the router and my projector and streaming speaker works great now. The second area that suffered was the garage, I have a wifi camera that was pretty much useless. I could never connect and it had the ability to rotate the camera as it was motorized. It would hardly ever connect and it would never work when needed. My signal strength in the garage was 4.06mb download 15% strength and 55 ft and the signal has already gone thru the residential structure and one wall of the garage structure. After the ASUS ROG router installed it went to a whopping 59mb and 70% strength. I can now sue the camera and actually use the touchscreen to move the camera via the motorized option in real time! This router has fixed both of my major issues so that in itself is worth it for me. The installation was very simple and the dashboard that shows all my connected devices is very easy to navigate and manage. Overall It was a great addition to my home and I am very happy with this router. I may still add my old router as it is compatable ASUS and use the AI mesh feature that will increase my internet coverage…there seems to be a nice new feature discovered every day!
