Flexispot EB8 standing desk with drawers review

Design

the FlexiSpot Comhar drawer’s dimensions (26.2”x12.4”x1.57”) are right in line with basic add-on drawers, albeit on the very shallow end of the spectrum with only an inch and a half of vertical depth. The motor is very quiet, and the desk moves up and down at a nice pace. I love that I can set presets for specific heights, and there’s even a lock button so you can ensure your desk stays in place. The desk is very sturdy and comes with 3 charging ports.

Build

Constructed with powder-coated steel tubing, our desk frame resists scratches and stains and ensures stability even at the highest setting. Also, if desk legs are uneven resulting in a slanted desktop, simply use the leveling glides along the bottom of the desk to stabilize and level your desk.

Connector

3 Convenient USB charging ports (2x USB Type-A, 1x Type-C) are embedded in the desk for wide electronic device compatibility, saving you all those mess & hassle from those entangled cords in your under-desk space and keeping your devices powered throughout the day.

Storage

A convenient pull-out drawer embedded in the desktop provides seamless integrated storage space for your home office supplies. The modern design blends in perfectly with the rest of the structure while keeping your belongings out of sight and neatly put away! It’s currently holding up my 27” iMac, keyboard, mouse, a table lamp, and pens and whatnot and it still feels very sturdy.

Height adjustability

The robust motor enables smooth and easy transition from 28.3″ to 47.6″, which even works for kids’ height. Also, customized with 4 programmable height presets, the desk is perfect for multiple users to save their preferred height setting in a family or work share environment.

Assemble

Once components are removed from the packaging, assembly time should be about 15 minutes. One tool (an Allen key) is included for attaching the lifting columns to the desktop and the feet to the lifting columns. No other tools are required.

The desk comes in three parts. The desktop, desk frame, and feet. The instruction booklet was very easy to comprehend and putting the desk together took only about 10 minutes! The various screws were all labeled and the wrench that they provided worked great as well.

How to use Flexispot EB8 standing desk with drawers?

There are four height presets you can customize, each are numbered 1-4. It moves from the lowest position to its max height very fast. The speed is fast but not to fast where my computer wants to fall over. It will display bot and top when it reaches its lowest and tallest height to let the user know.

The lifting legs are of a single-stage design (two tube segments instead of the usual three that you’d find in a more robust dual-stage base) and it literally uses only one motor to lift both legs. You can’t make an electric lifting base any cheaper.

The transmission rod that drives both legs up and down in sync places a lot of load on the small motor and is reminiscent of manual crank adjustable-height desks we used to review nearly a decade ago.  It is yesteryear technology but if you don’t want to pay more than $400 for a standing desk this is what you’re going to get. The single-stage columns also mean the height adjustment range is very small—only 19 inches—making the Comhar unsuitable for the shortest and tallest of users, and ideal only for medium-height male users.

Uplift V2 is one of the best standing desks that benefits from top-notch build quality, and prides itself on stability. An issue which can be found with some standing desks is that they might be a bit wobbly, particularly when extended to higher levels. Uplift is nicely stable, though, thanks to built-in stability braces.

Dual-motors mean the desk can change heights quickly, with a smooth and quiet action, and anti-collision tech is also in the mix (meaning if the desk is lowering and hits something – like your seat, or heaven forbid your head – it stops).

The desk also benefits from a large number of mounting points for accessories, with some pretty nifty extras that can be hooked up to this thing – including an under-desk hammock (yes you read that right – it attaches underneath when the desk is fully raised up). If there’s any testament you need to the stability of this unit, it’s being able to sleep in a hammock under it!

There are loads of choices for desktop sizes and colors (and indeed frame colors), you get built-in cable management, and there are curved or corner desk models. The products are backed by an impressive seven-year warranty, too.

The Uplift is available in standard and commercial standing desk versions (the latter has even more stability thanks to a crossbar), and those outside the US can order a unit to be shipped. However, it will be delivered as ‘palletized freight’, and could be expensive – so the maker suggests purchasing the Uplift frame only and sourcing your own desktop for it locally.
