Design
The dimensions of the TP Link Deco X55 Pro are 4.33 × 4.33 × 4.49 in (110 × 110 × 114 mm). Its white, elegant shape gives it the appearance of a tower.
Ports
In order to support and achieve the promised Wi-Fi speeds, all three devices include a 2.5Gbps Ethernet connector and support superwide Wi-Fi channels. However, the Deco X50-PoE system’s Power over Ethernet functionality and the XE75 Pro system’s third 6 GHz band are absent from the X55 Pro.
Not only do the Nighthawk MK83 and Eero Pro 6 lack superwide channels for fast Wi-Fi speeds, but they also do not utilize 2.5Gbps Ethernet.
Because no Wi-Fi transmitter is constrained by a Gigabit backhaul, the 2.5Gbps backhaul link in a wired home ensures that the system has a strong connection throughout, sufficient to deliver over 2Gbps of internet in full to every mesh point.
Coverage
The Deco X55 Pro’s Wi-Fi coverage was comparable to that of the Deco X60, which is quite small. A transmitter is typically roughly 40 feet away from where you will lose Wi-Fi coverage. Therefore, you should be able to cover about 5000 ft² (465 m²) with all three units. Your mileage will obviously differ.

How fast is Deco X55 Pro Wi-Fi setup?

We’ve never seen a mesh kit without a cloud account need, but in order to set up and operate this system, you need a free TP-Link ID account. It’s standard practice and enables you to safely administer your network from anywhere.
It was quite easy to install and join the additional two nodes after configuring the main node and the network. After only connecting them in, they quickly established an automated connection to the main network.
How good is Deco X55 Pro Wi-Fi Performance?
For instance, we tested an average of 350Mbps to 400Mbps from the dining room satellite using the TP-Link Deco X55, X55 Pro, and X50-PoE systems. The path from the router to the satellite is technically a straight 20 feet, but is blocked by two walls, a door, furniture, and cupboards. There isn’t a specific wireless line for Deco-to-Deco communication on these three platforms.
In contrast, the NETGEAR Nighthawk MK83 and Amazon Eero Pro 6 feature a third band that is utilized for communication between the router and the satellite, and we measured a noticeably faster average of 540Mbps to 600Mbps in the same location. TP-Link’s Deco XE75 Pro achieves an even higher average of 785Mbps by using the 6 GHz spectrum for its dedicated line.
When we tested the 160 MHz channel speeds, the Lenovo ThinkPad laptop and Google Pixel 6 next to the router unit achieved approximately 1,670Mbps, which is exactly perfect and demonstrates the advantages of having a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connector. The maximum real-world speed would be 940 Mbps using a gigabit Ethernet connector.
