This mini PC is compact and can be mounted onto the back of most TV/monitors (standard VESA mount bracket included). Intel Core i5-5257U and Intel Iris Graphics 6100 are powerful and rare to find in mini PC market. It runs Win 10 Pro smoothly and handles daily tasks without a problem (web browsing, document editing..etc). I have been editing photos/videos and gaming on this machine and it worked nicely. MINISFORUM U700 mini pc review
Design
Its dimension is 136x120x46mm and the entire casing is a black plastic with ventilation holes for cooling.
VESA mount
There’s a VESA mount in the box, as well as the screws you’ll need to mount it to the back of a monitor if you want it out of sight or expect to use it as digital signage (though there are some far cheaper options for that out there).
On the bottom, there are four Phillips head screws. They’re easy to strip, but when we got the bottom off, we could easily get to the cooling.
Ports
The EliteMini UM700 has three video outputs too, along with four USB Type-A ports and dual Gigabit Ethernet connections. Alternatively, you could use the built-in Intel WiFi6 AX200 module, which also offers Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. Additionally, there is a 3.5 mm combined headphone and microphone jack on the front of the device.
Storage
The entry-level model comes with 8 GB of SO-DIMM RAM and 128 GB of M.2 2280 storage. However, prices rise to US$669 for 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. All models come with the AMD Ryzen 7 3750H though, like the X35G that MINISFORUM announced earlier this year.
Processor
The Ryzen 7 3750H offers four Zen+ cores and can boost up to 4.0 GHz on a 35 W TDP. The 12 nm APU also includes AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 10 GPU, which has 10 Compute Units (CUs) and can boost to 1.3 GHz.
Upgrade
It’s easy to upgrade memory and storage. The bottom plate can be removed to access the 2.5″ HD/SSD (SATA) mount. Under the mounting bracket, there are 2 RAM slot (1 is used by the included 8GB DDR3 memory) and one SATA M2 port for SSD (used by included 128GB SSD). There is also a memory card reader which can be used to add additional storage up to 128GB.
