Roborock E5 mop robot vacuum cleaner review
Design
This unit is attractive with a nice quality look and feel. The filters are washable, this was a really nice benefit. It has a dimension of 19.33 x 15.98 x 6.14 inches and weighs around 11.86 pounds.
Accessories
The Roborock E5 uses a two brush system with a forked rubber corner brush and a larger floor roller in the middle. The side brush will move dirt and debris into the path of a large floor brush, which will drive the dirt into the vacuum itself.
Dustbin size
The dustbin is actually a pretty good size, allowing you to complete cleaning without having to empty as often. Dustbin removal is easy to do, and the side of the bin swings open for dumping. The filter and bin are washable too.
Room coverage
The Roborock S5 can clean my entire house of over 3000 sq feet without having to recharge. This is due to it’s great mapping and navigating capabilities which makes it very efficient and it’s huge 5,200 mAh battery.
Suction
The E5 uses 2500 Pa of suction to pull dirt and debris up from the floor. It’s able to handle hard surfaces with no problem. Soft floors may be different; you may have more difficulty cleaning a thicker rug or carpet.
Cleaning mode – Roborock E5 mop robot vacuum cleaner
There’s also a deep carpet cleaning mode. When the E5 detects carpet, it turns on the automatic carpet boost and increases the suction power to maximum to pick up more dirt. I definitely noticed this at work and after the E5 had been in the room it made a noticeable difference.
This vacuum and mop has a Spot Clean mode, where you can place the E5 bot near a mess or spill, and then open the app and hit the spot clean button.
The E5 also has a climbing mode; it can climb up to 2 cm in height, allowing it to move over a door frame or other shallow obstacle while still being low enough in profile (only 3.5 inches tall) to fit under most of your furniture.
Charging & battery life
The Roborock E5 has a 5200 mAh battery that provides just over 3 hours of runtime and takes about 3 hours to recharge fully. The E5 is capable of remembering where it has already cleaned, so if your cleaning is interrupted by a recharge, it will remember where to pick up from.
Apps in Roborock E5 mop robot vacuum cleaner
You can control the Roborock E5 using three methods: the app, remote control, and voice control. The app is easier to use because your phone is always with you and you can immediately control the robot vacuum. It also allows you to control the Roborock E5 even if you are not at home but only if you are connected to WiFi. The remote control is great if you have other family members that don’t have the app installed on their phone so that they can also control the robot vacuum. Using voice integrations, such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant is the most convenient method because you can control the Roborock E5 using your voice only.
Performance review
I did try the mopping feature, and I was surprised at how useful it actually turns out to be. I followed the advice I was given to have it perform mopping in zones and have it repeat the zone 3x. There was a zone for each room/hall, and it never ran out of water. I did have to re-fill it after each zone was finished, and it took a lot of manually changing water and cleaning the pad, but it works well enough that even my skeptical girlfriend was forced to admit she saw a real difference.

Best robot mop for those on a budget

Pros
+Lightweight and compact+Multiple cleaning modes+Replaceable battery
Cons
-Must purchase washable or disposable replacement pads-Drags dirt aroundAdvertisement
We were impressed at how well it cleaned edges and liked the fresh scent left from the disposable cleaning pads when it was done. For less than $200, it’s an easy way to keep your floors clean without lugging out the mop and bucket on a daily basis.
The very small and very budget-friendly iRobot Braava jet 240 is particularly good at cleaning small spaces, but still impressively quick when cleaning larger areas. For first time robot mop users, the Braava jet 240 is a great starter device.
While it doesn’t have the customized mapping and other bells and whistles found on the Braava jet m6 or on many hybrid robots, it will leave your floors cleaner than it found them.
Each type of pad is available in a 10-pack for $7.99. Reusable, washable pads are available in addition to disposable ones. A set of three reusable pads, which includes one of each type, is available for $29.99.
There are three types of proprietary pads made by iRobot that work with the Braava jet 240: a white, dry sweeping pad; an orange, damp sweeping pad; and a blue, wet mopping pad.
