Design
The Eufy RoboVac G30 is one of the smallest robot vacuums we’ve tested, measuring 12.8 inches in diameter and 2.85 inches tall. On top, it has an attractive black and blue design with three physical buttons: a Recharge button in the middle, flanked by an Auto Cleaning start/pause button above and a Spot Cleaning button below. A Wi-Fi status light is located at the top.
Build
Eufy’s robot vacuums have always had a distinct, mostly refined look and that hasn’t changed with the RoboVac G30 : shiny black plastic around the edges, blue accents on the dustbin and blue lights up top.
Brushes
On the bottom, it has a main rolling brush, a side brush, drop sensors, and a path-tracking sensor. It also has a 600ml dustbin with an E11 high-performance filter inside. The RoboVac G30 boasts 2,000Pa of suction, easily exceeding the Roomba 675’s 600Pa.
Dustbin
A 0.6-liter dustbin with a unibody filter is slotted in at the back. A separate mopping module consisting of a water tank and washable microfiber cloth attaches to the bottom of the dustbin when you want to wet-clean hard floors.
Suction
The RoboVac G30 has four suction options to choose from: Standard, Turbo, Max, and BoostIQ. By default it’s set to BoostIQ, which automatically adjusts the suction power based on your floors and the level of debris detected. With BoostIQ enabled, it will increase the suction when it moves over carpets and heavily-soiled areas.
Charging base
It comes with a charging base station, which the RoboVac automatically returns to when it’s finished cleaning or needs charging, and it’s also supplied with four metres of magnetic tape, which you can stick to your floor to block off areas you don’t want the robot to clean.
Anti-drop sensor
The robot’s anti-drop sensors will prevent it from falling down stairs. The sensors are less effective when dirty or used on carpeted or very dark floors, so you’ll want to wipe them clean often and use physical barriers to block off areas where the robot might fall. Finally, be sure to keep the robot away from wet areas, and use physical barriers around fireplaces and other potentially dangerous spaces.
App
The RoboVac G30 doesn’t come with a remote, but you can control it via the EufyHome app (available for Android and iOS). Setting it up to work with the app is simple. Just download the app and create an account if you don’t already have one. Press the plus icon to add the robot to your account, then follow the instructions on screen to set it up on your Wi-Fi network.
Tap the app’s “Clean” button and the RoboVac sets off. It trundles away from its base, finds a space it can clean and gets on with it. The app also lets you control the suction level, so you could have it operating for longer over a larger area by reducing the power used. You can send it back to its station for a charge or set up a simple schedule.
There’s also a spot clean option, which sets off the device in a spiral motion to clean a specific area. You have to move the device to the area you want cleaning, which you can do with the remote control function in the app. This is hidden away in the app’s Settings, and lets you move the device forward, or rotate left and right to change direction.
Eufy by Anker RoboVac G30 robot vacuum performance review
In Auto mode, which you’ll probably use most often, it’s not too loud. One of my few complaints about the Roomba 675 is how loud it runs. The RoboVac G30, on the other hand, didn’t bother me, even with BoostIQ enabled, which Eufy warns can increase the noise level.
Overall Score | Cereal | Kitty litter | Dog hair
Eufy G30 Edge* | 88.94 | 98.7 | 80.85 | 87.25 |
Neato D4* | 85.8 | 98.5 | 70.5 | 88.5 |

Eufy 30C | 87.5 | 99.75 | 89.1 | 73.5 |
*Similar test performed in a smaller 5 x 5-foot area.
We were also impressed by the G30 Edge’s performance with pet hair on bare floors. The vacuum collected 96.5% of the dog hair on hardwood, though a fair amount of hair was wrapped around the roller brush. Even still, it picked up more than the Neato D4 (93%) and the Shark Ion R85 (77.5%).
Cereal | Kitty litter | Dog hair
Eufy G30 Edge* | 97.4 | 89.2 | 96.5 |
Neato D4* | 97 | 80.85 | 93 |
Shark Ion R85 | 100 | 95 | 77.5 |
Eufy 30C | 100 | 95.6 | 72 |
Like many of the robot vacuums we’ve tested, the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge picked up 100% of the Cheerios we dropped on carpet. Unfortunately, its cleaning of smaller particles wasn’t as good. Kitty litter was particularly challenging for the vac as it only picked up 72.6% on carpet, falling below the RoboVac 11s (85%) and 30C (82.6%). It was nearly 20 percentage points below our current favorite, the Shark Ion R85.
The RoboVac G30 Edge’s pet hair performance on carpet also elicited a “woof.” It picked up 78% of the Golden Retriever hair strewn on the soft surface, 6 points below the Neato D4 and 20 points below the Shark Ion R85.
Cereal | Kitty litter | Dog hair
Eufy G30 Edge* | 100 | 72.6 | 78 |
Neato D4* | 100 | 60.2 | 84 |
Shark Ion R85 | 100 | 93 | 98.5 |
Eufy 30C | 99.5 | 82.6 | 75 |
If your home is primarily hardwood floors and cat free, the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge might just be the robot vacuum you’ve been waiting for. The bot picked up 97.4% of the Cheerios spilled on our test area– normally an excellent result– but just shy of the perfect scores obtained by the Shark Ion R85 and the Eufy RoboVac 11s and 30C. But what impressed us most is how the G30 Edge didn’t crush or pulverize the cereal as it vacuumed. Most of the Cheerios were undamaged when we opened the dustbin.
Eufy says the RoboVac G30 can run for up to 100 minutes on a charge, but BoostIQ decreases battery life. In testing, it cleaned for 88 minutes in Auto mode with BoostIQ enabled before it ran low on battery and successfully navigated back to its charging station on its own. In comparison, the iRobot Roomba 675 lasted 104 minutes.
After those 88 minutes, the dustbin was completely filled with dust, dog hair, crumbs, and feathers that must have escaped my pillows. My floors looked much cleaner, and my carpets had perfect vacuum lines on them.
