Design

With the push of a button, you can remove the canister and use it to clean hard-to-reach places. The vacuum comes with three helpful accessories: a crevice tool, dusting brush, and pet power brush. These accessories can be attached to either the extension wand or the handle. The hose on the handle provides more flexibility, allowing you to maneuver better in tight spaces, but you have to remain closer to the canister.

Crevice tool

The crevice tool, which has a narrow suction tube, worked great in tight corners and hard-to-reach areas such as windowsills and furniture ledges. For upholstered household items that are more delicate—like lampshades, window blinds, and drapes, the dusting brush did an excellent job.

Dust cup

This vacuum is bagless, choosing instead to use an extra-large dust cup to store dirt. With the transparent casing, you’re able to keep on top of maintenance easily, and see exactly when the dust cup needs emptying, but with 2.2 quarts to fill, you won’t have to empty it often. When that time does come though, you’ll find it a mess-free experience with its easy empty function.

Strong motors

The Shark Navigator Professional boasts a powerful 1200 watt (10 amp) motor, which makes it more than adequate for taking up all kinds of dirt and other debris around your home.

It also has two power settings: One for carpet with the brush roll on and one for bare floors (where the brush roll is turned off). This will make it work much better depending on the surface you’re cleaning. Also, having an off option for the roller will ensure your hard wood floors don’t get scratched by the brush.

Filtration

In fact, the filtration system is so good that you’ll find up to 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns caught and trapped, a standard as far as cleaning goes nowadays but still, an impressive feat nonetheless. Of course, changing the filtration system once every few months will ensure that your home remains as fresh as possible.

If you’re looking for a state of the art filtration system to help keep the air in your home cleaner and smelling fresher, look no further, because the Navigator Lift-Away includes and anti-allergen complete seal filtration system and added HEPA filter that trap airborne particles such as dust and dust mites, pollen, dander and bacteria, as soon as it comes into contact with them.

Cleaning mode

This vacuum can be configured into three cleaning modes to target all areas of your home. There are two separate settings on the vacuum—position “I” for bare floors and position “II” for carpets and rugs. A green light will illuminate to indicate that the brush is on. If there is a jam or blockage in the motorized brush, the light will turn red to notify you that there is a problem.

If you want to get a little more hands on, the Lift Away function will be your favorite aspect of this vacuum cleaner, as it helps you to reach every nook and cranny without hesitation.

The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional has powerful suction and proved very effective on both hardwood floors and area rugs.

Since it’s ideal for pet hair and ground-in dirt, we also tried out the pet power brush on the stairs. Our dogs shed pretty minimally, but we still find our fair share of fur, particularly on the stairs which they climb frequently. The small tool had incredibly powerful suction and picked up every dirt particle and loose hair we spotted.

What We Don’t Like

  • Must purchase more refill pads
  • Must continuously hold the power button

Capture dry debris and spiff up your hard floors with a multi-purpose vacuum, like the Shark VACMOP. It is designed for use on sealed hardwood, tile, or laminate floors, and glides effortlessly on them all. A tank for Shark cleaning solution, which is included in your purchase, is built into its body. The floor head uses replaceable mop pads that include a unique chamber for collecting debris, and features an easy-release button so you don’t have to touch the dirty pad when your cleaning session is done, too.

In our testing, the VACMOP earned a perfect score of 5 stars across every category. It was described as being very lightweight, and a great option for small spaces or those with limited mobility. While it offers an easier way to mop floors, keep in mind that you’ll need to hold the power button down to trigger the vacuum function of this wet-dry vac. While it’s easy to spray cleaning solution onto your floor thanks to a well-placed button on the handle, you may also need to refill the solution often. The canister isn’t very big, which may not bode well for larger cleaning jobs. However, you’ll enjoy a light on the floor head that does allow you to see into the nooks and crannies of your home.
