Shark Navigator Freestyle cordless stick vacuum cleaner – SV1106 reviews
Design
It weighs 7.5 pounds and measures at 10.5 x 9.6 x 46 inches. It is lightweight and portable. Everything about the design is thoughtful. Convenient to take apart and empty, put back together, remove and clean the filter, recharge. Ease of use is unparalleled due to light weight and rotating head.
Buttons
This button has two settings, the bare floor and carpet. In the carpet setting, the motorized brush will spin faster and suction will be stronger, of course it’ll be noisier.
Washable filter
The SV1106 is bagless with a washable filter, these features save you money on vacuum bags and replacement filters over a long period of time.
Bagless 0.64 Quart Dust Cup
It is bagless and comes with 0.64 Quart Dust Cup. Emptying the cup is simple and can be done in just a few short steps, all while leaving little to no mess. You can vacuum for far longer with an extra-large dust cup capacity. Simply empty the dust cup at the end of every vacuuming session to prevent dust from building up inside the vacuum.
Charging and running time
Shark says that this vacuum will charge between 4 to 7 hours. The nickel-metal hydride battery will reach its peak performance in terms of run time after 3 to 5 complete charge and run down cycles (based on the manual).
Leaving the vacuum on the charger even when the battery is full will not harm or degrade battery performance, so you can leave it on the charging stand so that it’s always read to clean.
Cleaning mode
This model has a high and low power cleaning mode, with a footswitch to swap between hard floor and carpet mode. This doesn’t totally stop the brush from rotating; it just slows it down. The Navigator Freestyle is about average in terms of noise level and has a swivel steering head
Shark Navigator Freestyle cordless stick vacuum cleaner – SV1106 Performance reviews
In Rice cleaning test, it took 2-4 passes to get the area visually clean, with additional passes needed to get residual flour out of the cracks between boards. The Navigator would also collect a bunch of flour on its roller wheels, which would usually fall off later in an inconvenient location.
Performance dropped when it came to cleaning under furniture, with this model finishing in the lower half of the pack. The Navigator only reached just shy of 11″ under our test sofa. To compare, some models had more than three times the reach.
In cereals test, it took about 1.5 passes to collect the oats, though there were a few stragglers left behind. However, it did collect all of the pet hair we laid out, tying with about half of the group for a perfect score.

Perfect vacuum to buy if you have back issues!!!
I am so happy I found this vacuum! I have major back issues and have had back surgery. Since my back is so bad I have major issues lifting anything over 5lbs with out being in major pain. This vacuum is so light weight and glides so easy I was able to vacuum my hardwood floors and my basement carpet and not cause any pain during or after sweeping. Other sweepers I had to push forward hard and pull back and it put a lot of pressure on my back and my hips and I was always in pain after sweeping.
This vacuum is so lightweight I was able to carry it down stairs to the basement and back up not struggling and not in any pain!! It has been years since I have been able to seep my home all at once and not be in pain after! I also LOVE that I do not need to plus it in to use it. I can now reach every part of my home and not have to worry about finding a plug and unplugging to finish a room.
I really like how easy the vacuum was to put together I didn’t even use the instructions at all. Another great thing about the sweeper is it’s not very big so it doesn’t take up a lot of room in my closet. I like that it’s easy to dump everything you swept out of the sweeper and you do not need to buy sweeper bags for this either. I wish I would’ve found this vacuum along time ago. I’m so glad shark made something like this. If you’ve ever had any issues with sweepers being too heavy not getting in certain Areas in your home because there’s no plug and you have a cord this is the perfect sweeper for you.
I am extremely happy with this purchase and it’s not too expensive in my opinion it’s worth every penny I would’ve even paid more for the sweeper because of all the benefits! I highly recommend buying the sweeper. Other sweepers I had to push forward hard and pull back and it put a lot of pressure on my back and my hips and I was always in pain after sweeping.

The Shark vacuum does feature a flexible wand that is a real game changer for reaching under furniture. You can stop ignoring the dust bunnies under your sofa, since Shark designed this vac with a hinge that gives the floor head greater reach. Plus, the Vertex series from Shark includes dual rollers in the floor head but, unlike other Shark models, one roller is equipped with grippy rubber fins to maintain contact with the floor. While making use of the 60-minute battery life, which is significant compared to many other cordless models, you can feel this technology working. Our tester noted the vac essentially pulls itself, and called it “flawless” before giving it a 5-star rating for maneuverability.
The Shark Vertex DuoClean PowerFins Cordless Stick Vacuum was the clear winner in our search for the best Shark vacuum—and best vacuum in general. It features powerful suction on all surfaces, a storage-friendly handle, and generally quiet operation. As we discovered in The Lab, it has the power you need to leave your carpets deeply clean and your hardwood floors sparkling. This model earned a perfect, 5-star rating for its effectiveness and didn’t cause any debris to scatter in process. In fact, it cleaned up every material in just a pass or two, regardless of flooring type. We found that the 1.4-quart dust bin empties easily, but given the vacuum’s powerful suction and long-lasting battery, we do wish it had more capacity.
Notably, you can also make this vacuum more compact for storage, since the handle can fold in half. Its canister converts into a handheld vacuum you can use, too, but our tester found the handheld vac to be decently heavy. It may be fine for grabbing a few cobwebs, but don’t expect to use it overhead for a long time. All in all, this vac is a suitable pick for a variety of living spaces and situations, even if it there’s not a designated spot on it for attachments. It took just three minutes to assemble and totally impressed.
