ORECK XL COMMERCIAL Upright Vacuum Cleaner review
Design
It has the exclusive Microsweep feature that allows you to switch from carpet to bare floors with no adjustments and a 630 cubic inch “top fill” bag. Weighing about 9 pounds*, it’s lightweight and covers a 12″ wide area which makes cleaning easy and quick.
Handle
The handle design is different from other uprights I’ve used. You don’t grip it like a stick, as with most vacuums. The grip feels more like pushing and pulling on a bar without your wrist flexed, making it more comfortable than a typical vacuum handle. It helps that you’re only pushing nine pounds of vacuum.
Head
The 12-inch vacuum head was almost 1.5 inches shorter than other upright vacuum cleaner. Vacuuming 1.5 inches less with each pass adds up in a big house.
Bag size
The bags for this vacuum are huge and last a long time. It transitions really well from carpet to hard floors – and does a great job cleaning hard surfaces. It doesn’t blow things, it just sucks them up. It is super easy to push, even on high pile carpet. On low carpet or hard floors, it practically propels itself!
ORECK XL COMMERCIAL Upright Vacuum Cleaner Performance review
This Commercial Oreck is what I need to vacuum my large area rugs and hardwood floors. A heavy-duty motor, heavy-duty suctioning, heavy-duty rollers, four heavy-duty wheels, a debris receptacle, an on-off switch and a handle. Done. This vacuum maneuvers well, is extremely light-weight and lifts dust/dirt/dog hair/debris like none other.
Opening the box was easy and I was surprised that it came with a small paper manual covering the easy assembly and use and maintenance. Oreck has a pocket on the outside of the zipper bag and it is a good place to keep the Manual, a few extra bags and your receipt. There is also a tiny square pocket inside the zipper bag where you can slip the recommended scent tab.
Oreck Commercial line has a 40 foot cord vs the 35 foot cord on my XL. It would have been helpful for me to have the extra 5 feet of cord, but the new cord is much heavier duty than the old and actually adds some weight to the vac. Being commercial heavy cord wears better and it now attaches with a pigtail so it is easier to replace the cord. It has a three prong plug. The helping hand attachment on the (U2000R1) looked good, especially if you vacuum stairs, but it is not available on the XL2100RHS model.

Eureka NEU182A Bagless Upright Vacuum
Whether you have hard floors, carpets, or rugs, you can count on this vacuum. Its brush adjusts to five heights, and its smooth wheels protect hard floors from scratches. It comes with the standard tools, but they’re much appreciated.
This model implements a dynamic motor that combats stubborn dirt and debris. It has a 12.6-inch nozzle, designed to clean up more and faster. Its 4.1-liter deep dust cup eliminates extra maintenance, saving you time.
You get a crevice tool, a dusting brush, an upholstery tool, and a washable filter. There’s also a stretch-hose for high cleaning. Each accessory is stored on-board for convenience and can be used to clean pet hair too.
Pros
Handy Accessories
Reiterating that not all commercial vacuums come with extras, we like that Eureka included the basics for home use. We especially like the flexible hose, for cleaning high spots or difficult areas.
Extra-Large Dust Cup
The dust cup on this machine makes a big difference. In line with how convenient this model is meant to be, you will spend less time on maintenance. It also reduces the risk of clogging and loss of suction.
Multi-Floor Machine
This machine’s brush is adjustable, and it has smooth wheels. So, it preserves the condition of your hard floors and protects against abrasions. You can use the machine on carpets, rugs, and upholstery too.
Cons
It’s Loud
It won’t break the sound barrier, but this machine is one of the louder ones. Though it’s capable of cleaning pet hair, it might frighten or disturb sensitive or indoor animals.
Unstable and Heavy
It’s not the lightest machine out there. While it’s not a big issue, some customers report a slight instability in the machine. A few users say that it has a tendency to lean or tip over if you let it go.
