How effective is mopping function? The Shark Vacmop takes the Swiffer Sweeper approach by doubling as a dry sweeper and mop, saving you the hassle of needing two separate cleaners. With your traditional Swiffer Sweeper, you need to dispose of the dry pad and then replace it with a wet one to make the transition. There’s none of that here with the Vacmop. Spray mop with VACMOP spring clean floor cleaner to scrub stuck-on grime, providing shiny clean floors. Price

The $100 starting cost isn’t too bad, but bear in mind the added cost that will be incurred with the need to buy disposable pads and the multisurface cleaner.

It’s about $24 for a 30-count refill pack of disposable pads. By comparison, a 40-count refill pack of Swiffer Sweeper dry sweeping cloths fetches for around $13 — so you’re going to be paying significantly more for the Vacmop.

There’s also the liquid multisurface cleaner you’ll need to buy if you intend on mopping your hard floors. It’s $10 for a two-liter bottle, which then gets poured into the Vacmop.

Design

It is 47.87″ tall, 9.5″ wide, and 5.3″ deep. It’s very compact and lightweight, making it a solid choice for small mess cleanup.

  • Length – 47.87″
  • Width – 9.5″
  • Cleaning head Depth– 5.3″
  • Weight – 6.14 pounds

The VacMop is easy to set up without struggling. There’s a some assembly required before you can get going with the Shark Vacmop Pro. You have to clip the body into the floor head and then click the handle into place. It takes only a few minutes, after which the mop is ready for action. Next, you have to attach the floor mop pad – Shark uses disposable floor heads. These mount a cleaning cloth onto a hollow plastic chamber, which has an inlet at the front. In effect, the mop pads are also a disposable vacuum bag.

Controls

There are two controls for this model. First, there’s a trigger that you grab to turn on the vacuum. Shark recommends that you vacuum the area first, then come back for mopping.

Pads

The disposable pad is the secret weapon. The pad has a sturdy plastic frame that holds a vacuum bag, which opens up when the suction feature is on to trap debris, in addition to a mopping pad that cleans the floors and absorbs wet messes or soil that is removed by the cleaning solution.

Reservoir

A reservoir holds the cleaning solution and a button releases the spray. Then, the absorbent part of the disposable pad mops away the cleaning solution and dirt. When the floor is clean, I just pop the pad off into the trash bin and the job is done.

Charge time & running time

You’ll need to charge the Shark Vacmop Pro, too, via the magnetic adapter that connects to the back of the machine. If you have a large amount of space to sweep and mop, you’ll want to look for another solution because the Shark Vacmop tops out at 13 minutes of battery life.

Coverage

The vacuum-suction is strong enough to pick up cereal or small pieces of dog food, and the cleaning solution reservoir holds enough product to clean around 1,000-square-feet of floor space.

To use this vacuum/mop you first need to fill the detergent tank with cleaning solution. Shark provides a 12oz bottle of its own cleaning fluid in the box, but you can buy a 2-litre bottle for $11.99 once you’ve run out.

To mop, you press the spray button to squirt out detergent onto the floor, then you move the mop pad over the area to pick up dirt. You need as much elbow grease here as you’d apply with a regular mop. However, the Shark’s lightweight body (it weighs just 3.34lbs) certainly helps, since it isn’t too heavy to carry around. I measured the VacMop at 75.6dB, which is about average for a regular cordless vacuum cleaner.

Now that I’ve tested the VacMop Pro in two homes, I’m impressed. It’s the perfect lightweight and hassle-free solution for quick cleanups. I generally run it in the kitchen after I make dinner, and then around the dog dishes. Depending on how dirty the floors are, I find a disposable pad can be used for about a week before it needs to be tossed.

I tested the VacMop Pro on cement, vinyl, hardwood, and linoleum floors. I’m happy to report that the included Shark multipurpose floor cleaner didn’t leave any streaks. After running the VacMop in the kitchen, living room, and patio, the disposable pad was pretty gross. Success!

Lightweight Cordless 2-in-1 Vac/mop

Shark VacMop Professional is a cordless 2 in 1 complete cleaner with powerful suction and spray mopping that is a must for homeowner with hardwood floors.

It just takes few minutes to get it assembled right out the box. No tools required for assembly and it’s so simple, just insert rods into each other until it clicks in place.

It comes with 2 disposable mopping pads, cleaner (12oz bottle), magnetic charger and instructional manual in the box.

We have a 3000sqft hard floors (both tiles and hardwood) and this vacmop is a perfect addition for both vacuuming and mopping. Very handy when needed to quickly clean the spills in kitchen. Its so amazing to have both vacuum and mop in one unit where you can vacuum and clean the mess. Just spray with a touch of button and mop back and forth for a clean floor and if any dirt you just hit the vacuum. Tried cleaning both tile and hardwood floors with no issues.

Suction on the vacuum is good for small mess and is powerful to pick the cheerios/corn flakes from floor. Its very light and convenient where it can clean so well in hard to reach areas. We do have cordless Dyson vacuum and love this one for smaller cleaning jobs.

Charger is a magnetic disk that attaches to the unit (similar to apple watch charging). Once attached there is an indicator that flashes when charging and stops when fully charged.

Only downside is the disposable pads. These pads are proprietary where the dirt from vacuum suction is stored in the pad. Once its full and dirty it needs replaced and this is an ongoing cost.

Overall, it’s a great cordless powerful 2-in-1 vacmop that will be recommended to any home for quick cleaning.

  • Dust bin is quite large
  • Has swivel steering
  • Operates pretty quietly

What We Don’t Like

  • Assembly requires a screwdriver
  • Bumper on floor head pushes debris

The Shark Navigator DLX Upright Professional Vacuum offered powerful suction and performed great on low, medium, and high-pile carpets in The Lab. For that reason, it’s the right choice if you’re looking for a vacuum cleaner that’ll effectively clean your area rugs and carpeted floors. It was given an overall rating of 4 stars for its cleaning effectiveness—meaning, on average, it cleaned up the cereal, popcorn kernels, and strands of hair in just three to five passes. At 3.5 quarts, the dust bin of this upright vacuum is larger than most, too. Our testing team loved this feature and found the dust bin to be super easy to empty.

We found that the greatest strength of the Shark Navigator DLX is also its weakness. While the powerful suction made it faster and easier to remove debris, it also increased the effort we had to put forth to use the vacuum on the medium and high-pile carpets. Even still, our tester gives this Navigator model a 4.5-star rating for maneuverability and comments positively on the swivel steering. This type of steering will give you easier access to corners, and makes this pick a bit more pleasurable to use.
