Price – Blueair Blue Pure 411 auto small room air purifier
The Blue Pure 411 is an entirely reasonable £130/$120/AUS$250-ish. Why is it so much cheaper in the USA than the UK? I don’t know. But it’s a good price everywhere, even in ‘rip-off Britain’.
Replacement filters are also cheap at £20, $20 or AUS$50. That’s good news as you are supposed to replace them every six months.
At this price, naturally you won’t find many air purifiers with Auto Mode like this Blue Pure 411 Auto, except the Airthereal ADH80 and AeraMax 100. Other popular air purifiers like the GermGuardian AC4825, Levoit Core 300 or Vornado AC350 doesn’t come with such generous feature. Perhaps we should wait for the new Levoit Core 200S to be the next best budget smart air purifier.
Blue Pure 411 Auto could be the best energy-saving air purifier in the world, as it operates with only 2 to 10 watts. Yes, this air purifier is rated by Energy Star, too.
If you use the Blue Pure 411 Auto for 8 hours each day, you just only need to pay $0.7 to $3.5 each year. Woahh, impressive!

Design
A compact cylinder made of a choice of colourful plastics, the Blue Pure 411 is beautifully simple. It stands just 42.5cm tall and has a diameter of 20cm. We were mightily impressed with the sleek and beautiful design, don’t forget about the LED indicator right at the middle of this air purifier.
Top panel
Controls are pretty simple too. They are as follows: one button on the top that you push to cycle the Blue Pure 411 between its three power settings. Blueair adds a hidden cord compartment below the particle sensor. This velcro-panel will keep the power cord close to the body and out of sight.
Portable
The Blue Pure 411 Auto is compact, too, at 3.8 lbs. Everyone can handle the air purifier easily, and that’s why this air purifier is perfect for small rooms.
Filter
Blue Pure 411 Auto uses the same air filtration system as the rest of the Blue family, however, it seems the basic filter of Blue Pure 411 is more efficient.
- Particle filter – Instead of using a True HEPA filter, Blue Pure 411 Auto runs a polypropylene fibers filter to help capture 99% of all allergens like dust, dust mites, pet dander, pollen and fungi (HEPASilent technology).
- Pre-filter – It’s worth noting that the fabric pre-filter of Blue Pure 411 Auto is outside the air purifier. This is one great advantage of this pre-filter, because you can easily check the status of it to vacuum or wipe the contaminants out immediately.
- Activated Carbon Filter – The Activated Carbon filter is added inside the Particle filter and effective against smoke, odors, gases and VOCs.
Does it have HEPASilent?
The HEPASilent technology of Blueair has improved miles away from the original filter. It is less dense so all Blueair air purifiers have high fan power without loss of performance. Also the Blue Pure 411 Auto is quiet and energy-efficient.
In Breathe Quality, we all love the air filters from Blueair. The Polypropylene fibers are free of chemicals and naturally anti-bacterial. Most importantly, not like the cheap air purifier, this Particle filter is recyclable.
It uses the same air filter as the Blue Pure 411, but it seems the manufacturer has improved the Particle filter. Its efficiency is quite better than the last test’s result of us. You can check the below chart for comparison between the Blue Pure 411 Auto and Eureka Instant Clear NEA120, Filtrete FAP-C02WA-G2 and Levoit LV-H128.
CADR & ACH
The room coverage of the Blue Pure 411 is (unintentionally) larger than the recommendation of the Blue Pure 411. Checking the actual CADR rating, I don’t think it has higher fan power than the original version, but the suggested 190 square feet of Blueair is still legit.
The ACH of Blue Pure 411 Auto is 5X. Blueair is a well-known brand in creating powerful air purifiers, and even their Blue Pure 411 Auto is no exception with a high air changes per hour rating.
The CADR of Blue Pure 411 Auto is exceptional at 107 Dust/ 123 Smoke/ 96 Pollen (cfm). It is a bit better than the original version, but in compared with the Blue Pure 411+, it is nearly the same.
Noise
The lowest noise level recorded on the Blue Pure 411 Auto is 18 decibels (db) and the highest is 48 decibels (db). On lowest speed, the noise level is even below the rustling leaves’ level. You won’t hear anything from such mode for sure.
Setup
The Blue Pure 411 comes with its filter already installed so you just plug it in and, er, that’s it. You can press the button on top for a little extra frisson of excitement if you like.
On its standard speed setting the Blue Pure 411 is extremely quiet, which is another big point in its favour. On full power its somewhat noisier but I think on the whole you would hardly ever use it, unless some kind of terrible air-fouling incident has occurred.
Blueair Blue Pure 411 auto small room air purifier customer review
Quiet, Simple to Use Air Filtration
I received the Blueair – Blue Pure 411 Auto HEPA Silent Air Purifier for purpose of providing an honest, unbiased review. My wife and I both have allergies and we have tried many different room filters over the last few years. The Blue Pure 411 Auto is a silent, easy to use filter that I would put up with the best room filters currently out there. The unit has one button that you tap to turn on and change fan speeds. The auto setting, though, is the most interesting. The filter detects air quality and adjusts the fan speed as needed. I live in central Oklahoma. I’ve noticed on air alert days, that the filter’s indicator lights have changed to orange or red and the fans are going stronger than on days without air quality warnings. Oklahoma currently has high cedar warnings, but my wife and I haven’t sneezed or coughed since setting the unit up.
The unit comes with essentially two filters. There’s an outer cloth cover called the “pre-filter” plus the standard filter inside. The pre-filter can be vacuumed and machine washed. The filter inside the unit is supposed to last up to six months. When you replace the standard filter, be prepared that replacement filters seem to cost around $22 at Best Buy. I didn’t see any local Best Buy stores with filters in stock, but it seemed like an easy enough item to have shipped or picked up in store. Pre-filters are a little bit more difficult to come by. It seems they sell standard for under $10, but most retailers I checked were currently out with new arrivals expected within the next 4 to 6 weeks. The pre-filters provide some customization as you can find them in other materials and colors.
The device stands about 16 inches with a diameter of close to 8 inches. At that height, it’s not the smallest room filter, but it’s not unnecessarily huge, either.
I like this filter. Set up is easy. It’s usually very quiet and even when the fan kicks up, it never gets that loud. If you’re searching for a new room filter, be sure to check out the Blue Pure 411 Auto. 5/5
I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks!
