Although the auto-emptying feature is a bit picky, it is understandable given the option’s affordable pricing. The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ is a versatile vacuum, mop and air freshener that is simple to use. Dust and other smaller material are easily removed, but the air freshening feature is ineffective.

Design

At 3.75 inches (30 cm) in height and 13.9 inches (353 cm) in diameter, the Deebot T9+ is about the same size as the Deebot N8+, giving it plenty of room to fit under and around furniture. It won’t, however, likely be able to fit between most couches and smaller areas.

Brushes

The main brush on the underside of the vacuum is in charge of gathering up the majority of the trash on the floor, but hair and thread have a tendency to become stuck in it. The hoover really comes with a cleaning tool to make removal simpler, and it is advised that you change the brush every 300 hours.

Dustbag or water tank

Unlike the N8 Plus, which has washable microfiber pads, this one has a small 180mL water reservoir and disposable ones. You will need to change the pads at your own expense after the first ten that you are given. However, they are easy to attach and remain in place when mopping.

Suction

The app offers four different hoover power levels: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+. As you go up the scale, you can obviously hear the additional suction. You can switch from Quick Scrubbing to Deep Scrubbing and between Light, Medium, High, and Ultra High water flow levels and mopping modes once the mopping unit is fitted, however I didn’t see much of a difference.

Navigation

The Deebot T9 features what they call “TrueMapping” which is a combination of Lidar and a DToF laser sensor to give it one of the most robust and efficient navigation programs.

Air freshener

After doing a routine hoover, you can install the scented pod that comes with the air freshener. Although the smell of the oak and cucumber is rather pleasant, I think this element is merely a marketing ploy. While the hoover is running, you may occasionally smell the perfume, but it only lasts for a few minutes. It would be best if you just lit a candle.

Setup

The Auto-Empty Station was easy to set up. All you really need to do is locate an outlet and give the robot hoover enough room to go around, roughly 1.64 feet (0.5 metres) on either side and 4.92 feet (1.5 metres) in front. It also comes with a ramp adapter, which makes it simpler for the hoover to dock if you’re using it on a rug or carpet.

Battery life

According to the app, it finished cleaning after roughly 160 minutes with 20% of the energy remaining. The robot vacuum returned to the Auto Empty Station to refuel as soon as the battery reached 15% after I sent it out again with the same settings. This suggests that you get roughly three hours of use per charge, which is consistent with EcoVacs’ one hundred and seventy-five-minute claim. It’s important to note that the runtime was actually longer than claimed because the manufacturer based it on the Quiet power setting.

Apps

The noise level of the Deebot T9+ robot vacuum was comparable to that of other models. It hit anywhere between 55 and 69 dB while vacuuming. It had a low hum, like an air conditioner, when I put it on the normal power level.

Is it good for dog hair?

Given the copious amounts of dog hair we have (Nala has short to medium hair), the Deebot T9+ has performed incredibly well. Personally, I’m not sure how Deevid would handle a dog with long hair, such as a border collie or golden retriever. My hair occasionally gets tangled in the brushes, but Deevid is simple to open and clean when necessary.

I am a huge fan of Deebot. It does so much and is so customizable and smart. The T9+ has a low profile (height in CM is just a little over 9) when it cleans which means that it has no issues when going under the bed or chairs. It is a god send especially under the carpeted bed getting all the cat hair that is so hard to get to. The app is excellent for so many reasons. Just to name a few from a pet owner. You can set areas you don’t want the robot to go to (water bowl+food bowl, heavy carpeted area or area with a lot of cat toys etc). What if your cat decides to be a cat and a toy ends up in the cleaning area? no problem usually the deebot will just bang it around with its brush and move it like a soccer ball but if it does accidentally get sucked in you will get a message that in needs attention and something is stuck. I also love the large collection tank for the trash collection, (app) it will let you know if it needs to be replaced. Water tank is huge as well. One other thing is it will automatically decide and change to a different setting for instance if its on a wooden floor versus carpet but what I like to do is just customize it myself, some features you can customize are : clean 1 time or have it go over everything 2 times, vacuum power Quiet, standard, max, water flow level low medium or high, scrubbing intensity and so much more. It is so awesome and the best investment! Also its so easy to buy more brushes and whatever you need to refresh it if you have to (I had one brush head that got tangled on max setting on carpet and had to replace it, it just pops out so easily and you can replace it in 2 seconds). This thing is so worth it 1000 times!
