Build & Design
The Roborock Q5 is constructed well. Like the Roborock E4, the body’s surrounding matte-finish polycarbonate has a premium appearance and feel. Its brushroll layout resembles older models more.
Accessories
It comes with both the robot vacuum and a charging base. Simply put the base into an outlet and set the robot there to charge; no assembly is necessary. The differences between this vacuum and the other Roborock vacuums may be found in a few key areas. A voltage converter is located in the base of the charging cord for bases, which is a little different. The plate that conceals the dustbin has it built in.

Filter
The HEPA filter appears to be very effective at removing dust from the air. After every trip the Roborock takes for cleaning, I vacuum the HEPA filter with my wand vacuum and wash the filter every three to four trips. The filter may be removed from its housing quite quickly and is situated inside the dirt compartment. It features a straightforward design and isn’t very challenging to clean. It needs to be washed every two weeks.
Brushes
There are still some bristles on the brush bar, which are great for cleaning dust from floors. The silicon edge brush is far more effective than bristles at luring debris into the brush bar from walls and corners.
Pet hair tends to accumulate in the brushroll’s tightly packed bristles, and it might be challenging to remove any strands that have gotten tangled there. The rubber brushroll on more recent versions, such the Roborock S7 MaxV, is far easier to clean and is entirely compatible with the vacuum.
Suction
When compared to the majority of other robot vacuums, the Roborock Q5 has a rather strong real-world suction. Although the manufacturer claims that its suction motor can provide 2700Pa of suction force—more than the more expensive Roborock S7—this difference in suction power isn’t really apparent in practice.
It cleans well and has strong suction, possibly on par with a regular vacuum. Sometimes, if you haven’t done it in a long, you need to go over it again. It can fit below our couches and chairs because of its modest profile. You may run it again if it’s extremely filthy, and it will handle it well. The filter pops out and is simple to clean, while the dustbin is simple to remove and empty.
Cleaning
This vacuum cleaner excels at both tasks. Within a minute of noticing the texture change under half of its body, it activates Turbo and keeps it running until either it has returned to level flooring or is mapping the room for the following 10×10 sector. The margins of carpets and flooring are considerably better cleaned with the Roborock.
Mapping
Multiple levels are common in houses. Different levels of your home are automatically recognized by multi-level mapping systems. Put the robot down is all that has to be done. No need to install more docks, and your app doesn’t need to indicate the level. Support for up to four tiers.
Battery life
The Roborock Q5’s battery life is great. Its 5200 mAh battery has the same capacity as the top-tier Roborock S7 MaxV, providing a runtime that is comparable to that of that device. It can operate for almost 220 minutes in its low-power “Quiet” mode, comfortably exceeding the quoted maximum battery life of 180 minutes and providing it with plenty of time to cope with light debris. In its high-power ‘Max’ mode, the battery life shrinks to little over 80 minutes.
App
For us, the app is only next-gen. It produces an amazing Lidar-based map and divides it into sections based on rooms. Use Siri Shortcuts, Google Home, or Amazon Alexa to command with the force of your voice. With just a voice command, you may start or stop cleanups—perfect for helping the elderly or when you don’t have access to a phone.

Best Purchase Ever
I received this robot vacuum for my birthday from my husband and I can’t be happier. I named my Roborock “Rose” and I am so impressed with how this cleans. The first time I used it the floor even looked shinier! It sucks up dust, dog hair so much so that I clean the dust bin every day. Much more effective than a broom. So far I have only used it on vinyl flooring every single day. I’m sure it would be great on tile and carpeting. Multiple maps is a must have for us since we have an upstairs and our living room is a different level than our kitchen so it can’t go from one to another. It’s pretty easy to change maps on the app which is nice. It’s also super easy to set up. The app works well. No issues connecting to 2.4gz WiFi. Cheers to this device!

iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ from iRobot is one of the greatest Roombas because to its obstacle avoidance technology. With this, it can essentially recognize commonplace objects like cables and socks and avoid them. The bot’s ability to avoid pet poop is the key advantage of this feature. In fact, iRobot is so sure of the Roomba j7+’s intelligence that it has unveiled the Pet Owner Official Promise (P.O.O.P), under which it will replace any j7+ that can’t avoid solid pet waste. This robot vacuum is among the smartest ones we’ve seen because it continuously learns with each use.
An excellent cleaning base is included with the j7+. In comparison to other bases, it can carry up to 60 days’ worth of trash and has a more attractive appearance. It is also more compact. With 98.33 and 94.6% of big trash collected, respectively, such as cereal and cat litter, this robot vacuum performed effectively. The performance on pet hair may have been greater, but the result was still a solid 82.5%. In the end, if your pets are prone to accidents and you want to prevent more mess, this is an excellent buy.
