What are the differences – Eufy SoloCam E20 vs E40?

Design

E20

It weighs about 400 grams and measures 9.6 x 5.7 x 5.7 cm. It is an extended, rectangular object with rounded edges. The sensors and camera are located in the front portion, and the various connectors are located in the back.

With dimensions of 1.9 x 3.9 x 1.9 inches (4.9 x 10 x 4.9 cm), or 4.9 x 10 x 4.9 cm, the Eufy SoloCam E40 is one of the larger battery-powered weatherproof home security cameras we’ve examined (w x d x h). The camera includes a small screw mount that fastens to the rear of the device and enables wall mounting. A ball and socket joint in the mount can be adjusted to collect everything.

Connection

By omitting the HomeBase hub, the Eufy SoloCam E40 varies from Eufy’s other battery-operated cameras, the Eufy SoloCam E20. Instead, similar to a smartphone, it makes a direct connection to your home Wi-Fi network. Compared to the company’s other wireless 2K cameras, this makes it simpler to set up and a little less expensive.

Resolution

Compared to the SoloCam E20, the SoloCam E40 boasts a 2K resolution. The E20 solocam boasts two-way audio so you can talk to anybody in the room, 1080p HD quality, and records in 30-foot segments with night vision. The Eufy Solocam E40 features a 2K resolution and is also outfitted with facial recognition and motion detection technology, which will notify you if it spots movement or someone it recognises.

Storage

E40

You must use the 8 GB of internal storage because this camera doesn’t support cloud storage or extendable local storage. The camera’s four-month battery life is the shortest from this manufacturer since Wi-Fi consumes a lot of power.

The local storage on the E20 camera is 8GB. The content is only recorded when the sensors pick up any movement. Small clips can be stored there with ease.

Alarm

E40

When it comes to accurately identifying persons in its field of view, E40’s built-in AI is capable of doing so and even displays a small thumbnail of the person in the Events list. The two-way speak feature is easy to use, and when viewing the live video, it is possible to manually activate a 90 dB siren in the camera.

E20

The camera will generate a “alarm” sound of up to 90 dB if the system is active, which does not provide a high enough performance at noise level but will also be quite bothersome to the attacker.

Similarities – Eufy SoloCam E20 vs E40

Privacy-first policies

Eufy’s emphasis on privacy protection is one of its main competitive advantages. To keep your data off the internet, all Eufy IP camera devices include some sort of local storage. Similar to this, when connecting to the internet, Eufy cameras, apps, and cloud servers adhere to strong encryption procedures. The app’s requirement for two-factor authentication when checking in on a new device is another feature we like.

Eufy app

Your entry point for configuring and operating your Eufy camera is the Eufy app. You can view any recordings that were made while you were returning from vacation or watch live video. Additionally, you can communicate with others through the camera by using the two-way audio feature of the app.

Eufy SoloCam E20 vs E40 Consumer reviews

Good basic security camera

This is our first security camera. We actually bought 2 E20s and 1 E40 solo cam. They were easy to set up with my iPhone 8. And picture quality, night and daytime, is really good. Motion sensors so far, have been perfect. We haven’t had them very long, so we are still. Experimenting a bit.

We love the fact we don’t have to sign up for a subscription to anything. It’s all right there on your phone. These are simple, affordable cameras, and they do what we need them to do. So far, I would definitely recommend these cameras to someone with similar security needs.

Blink Outdoor security camera

The best home security camera for those looking for a completely wireless solution under $100 is the Blink Outdoor. The camera connects wirelessly with a small base station that is linked to your Wi-Fi network and is powered by two AA batteries, which should last up to two years.

The weatherproof Blink Outdoor casing has a simple mounting bracket and can be placed both indoors and outside. The 1080p video is recorded, while not the best, is decent for the price. Videos can be saved locally on a USB drive despite the lack of free cloud storage like the previous Blink XT2. A year of cloud storage costs $30, or $3 per month.

Because Ring and Blink are both owned by Amazon, you may share recordings from your Blink camera and view a stream of other occurrences in your neighbourhood using the Ring Neighbors app. Despite not having all the bells and whistles of Arlo’s cameras, Blink’s app is fairly feature-rich and offers a lot of functions for the money.
