What is key difference – Eureka AirSpeed vs PowerSpeed upright vacuum?

Design

AirSpeed

It has a lightweight build, weighing just under eight pounds, making it easy to clean upstairs and downstairs in one go. It is powered by an 18-foot cord and a six-amp motor that work together to deliver “top notch” suction.

PowerSpeed

It is lightweight and just weigh around under 10 pounds. The vacuum has five height adjustment settings for various types of flooring including bare floors, high and low carpet, and two other carpet. You can also quickly adjust the pile height using the knob located on the floorhead.

Accessories

AirSpeed

The upright vacuum comes with two handy attachments: a crevice handle that’s long enough to suck up dust in hard-to-reach places and a dusting brush that can suck up crumbs, tracked-in dirt, and hair off of upholstery “like a champ.”

PowerSpeed

The Eureka comes with three attachments—a crevice tool, an upholstery brush, and a dusting brush—making it versatile enough to clean most surfaces in your home. All of the attachments can be stored on the vacuum for easy access, as well.

Bin capacity

It’s also outfitted with an extra-large, 2.6-liter dust cup. To empty the dust cup, all you need to do is press down on the lever and the bottom lid will swing open.   It’s one of the reasons these vacuums are popular with people who own large home or those who have more than one pet.

Filter

A two-stage filtration system serves to ensure allergens are trapped and don’t re-enter the atmosphere of your home. The pre-motor filter is made from foam and re-washable. By regularly cleaning it in water, you can keep your Eureka PowerSpeed performing optimally regarding dust filtration and suction power. The filter is re-usable which saves you the costs that come with replaceable filters or bags.

Cleaning

It has the has a knob on top of the base of the vacuum that you turn to swap between hard and soft floors.

The crevice tool, which has a narrow suction tube, worked great in tight corners and hard-to-reach areas such as baseboard edges and heating vents. We used the upholstery brush to pick up lint, hair, and other debris from our couches and chairs.

With rice, the PowerSpeed performed much better on flatter carpet than fluffier carpet. It took about three passes for this vacuum to clean up all of the grains from the low-pile carpet, with only a small amount of dust and a few fragments of rice left behind.

We gave the PowerSpeed 10 passes on the low-pile carpet and there was still plenty of the ½ cup of flour that we spread out remaining.

The performance dropped a bit with a medium-pile carpet, with a noticeable amount of rice remaining even after six passes.

Roborock E4

  • Vacuum Type  Robot
  • Bagless  Yes
  • Cordless  Yes
  • Anti-Allergy Filter (HEPA)  Yes
  • Wet Compatible  No

If you’re looking to spend less on a robot vacuum to deal with pet hair, consider the Roborock E4. Unlike the iRobot Roomba S9, it doesn’t store a permanent map of its coverage area. It means it loses out on some of the more advanced automation capabilities, like being able to set up virtual no-go zones or sending the vacuum to a specific room within your home.

Get the iRobot if you want a robot vacuum with a much wider range of automation capabilities. Consider the Roborock if you’re looking for something much cheaper that still delivers exceptional pet hair-cleaning performance.

That said, it’s much more affordable and does just as good a job in cleaning pet hair from a wide variety of surface types. Unusually for a budget-friendly robot vacuum, it has a surface detection system that lets it automatically adjust its suction power depending on the floor type that it’s on.

There’s an onboard HEPA filter to help trap allergens as it cleans, too. Its maximum battery life of over three hours should be more than enough to vacuum most rooms, and even in its most powerful ‘Max’ mode, it provides almost two hours of runtime. Unfortunately, it takes much longer to recharge.
