What is the H13 HEPA Filter in Hestom Air Purifier for home large room?

Medical-grade filters are commonly used in electronic control rooms and pharmaceutical plants. The reason why is because they have a higher particulate retention rate. What this means is that an H13 HEPA filter can remove tiny particles in the air more efficiently.

The H13 HEPA filter is a medical-grade air filter capable of removing a minimum of 99.95% particles at MPPS (0.21 microns). This is unlike the lower-grade HEPA filters (H10 to H12), which traps 85% to 99.5% of contaminants of 0.3 microns of size in the air.

HEPA filters are usually made of one of the following materials:

  • Non-woven fabric material or polypropylene – allows for better air filtration.
  • Fiberglass or glass fiber – enables the HEPA filter to have better performance.

They were first made by the US government during World War II and incorporated in gas masks. Today, they are widely used to remove particulate from the air.

Filter & other functions

The filter has helped considerably at relieving my seasonal allergies and given me the ability to get a good night’s sleep. The fan on this filter system is no louder than the ceiling fan I like having on while I sleep. It has s nice stylish look and the plastic is solid but lightweight. It is easy to move due to the rollers on the bottom of the fan. The control is sensitive and easy to make changes and see the bright light on the front to know what levels you are changing it too. The filter is easy to change with no tools by removing the back, sliding it out, and putting a new one in.

Noise and air quality

It is very quiet, if you set it low speed. Even when it is set at high speed, it is still as quiet as a regular fan. Another thing I like a lot about this machine is the ability to tell the air quality. It is a digital indicator of the air quality and color led light to tell the real time air quality and how much progress it has made. It was very comforting when I saw the air quality improved from 230 to 50 in about 10 minutes (then I can either turn the purifier off or set it to slow speed). Sleep mode: ≤36db, low wind speed ≤43db, medium wind speed ≤50db, high wind speed: ≤56db,Premium DC motor from Shibaura(JAPAN) ensure the continuous 50,000hrs working which is four times longer than ordinary motors.

Setup

The setup is extremely easy, just pull it out of the box, open the back and remove the plastic from the filters, but the filters back in, replace the back, plug it in and you’re good to go! I bought this model primarily for the Auto feature, which works extremely well. It will stay on the lowest setting most of the time, but it does sense particulates and will often speed up the fan when we are cooking, spray and air freshener or if the dogs come in and shake dust around.

How does it work?

The dirty air will goes into the purifier from the bottom and goes to the filter and the clean air will goes out from the top! I like how it work because it’s not below direct to anyone! The screen will tells how the air is.

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Large Room Air Purifier

Alen BreatheSmart 75i Large Room Air Purifier

  • Pros: Covers an enormous 1300 square feet, configurable color panels
  • Cons: Has a large footprint, expensive

Looking to cover a lot of square footage? Not a problem with the Alen BreatheSmart 75i Large Room Air Purifier. This air purifier cleans up to about 1300 square feet twice an hour without making a lot of noise. In fact, Alen claims the technology in the BreatheSmart is twice as quiet as that of its key competitors, even on Turbo speed.

The Alen BreatheSmart features a HEPA Pure filter that is certified to capture 99.97 percent of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. This works in combination with the device’s Laser Smart Sensor, which also detects airborne particles down to 0.3 microns, to effectively clean your air of dust, pollen, allergens and dander.

It measures about 27 inches high and 18 inches wide, with a control panel on top that includes an air quality indicator light which always reflects the real-time purity of the room’s air with an easy-to-read display. And you can choose from among 14 different colors and panels to find one to match your home’s interior.

Molekule Air Purifier

Molekule Air Purifier

Molekule Air Purifier

  • Pros: PECO destroys pollutants 1000 times smaller than those in HEPA tests.
  • Cons: Expensive

This is the priciest air purifier on the list, but for serious allergy-sufferers, it may well be a worthwhile investment. Unlike most other purifiers which have HEPA filters that collect particulates from the air, the Molekule actually removes indoor air pollutants and then destroys them. It does this using a dual-filtration system: first, the pre-filter catches larger pollutants like dander and pollen; then, the nano-filter cleans the air with a process called photoelectrochemical oxidation (PECO), claiming to eliminate airborne pollutants that are 1,000 times smaller than those the average air purifier can destroy.

The materials used to create the Molekule aren’t just functional; the design is sleek and elegant, featuring a leather handhold strap and a machined aluminum case. While Molecule stands behind the unique technology in its air purifiers (and in fact points to more than a dozen tests that demonstrate the efficacy of the technology), you might notice that Molekule no longer makes certain claims that appeared in older advertisements. The company rescinded early marketing claims like the speed with which it replaced the air in a room and the fact that it could “completely eliminate” allergens, bacteria, viruses, and mold. This is a result of a ruling by the Better Business Bureau’s National Advertising Review Board following a challenge by another air purifier company.

It’s worth mentioning that the brand just released a new model, the Air Pro, designed for extra large spaces up to 1000 square feet. If you’re looking for the same sophisticated design for a bigger space, that might be the model worth investing in.
