NVIDIA 3070 graphics card Price

The RTX 3070 hits shelves at around $500, making it a colossal saving when compared to the last generation’s flagship (RTX 2080 TI). That’s under half the price without losing out on any of that great gaming performance. If anything, the RT 3070 is slightly better in certain scenarios than last year’s high-end flagship.

Design

Its dimension is ‎11.81 x 2.22 x 5.38 inches, which weighs 7.22 pounds. They all support up to four monitors. Nvidia FreeStyle, ShadowPlay, Highlights, G-Sync and GPU boost work on all of the 30-series cards. They’re all VR-ready, and HDMI 2.1-compatible. And, in theory, they can all support screen resolutions up to 8K.

Memory

NVIDIA 3070 graphics card comes with GDDR6 type memory of 8GB capacity and 1.73GHz boosting clock.

Power consumption

Here’s a look at total system consumption using our Ryzen 9 3950X test system. The RTX 3070 pushed total system usage to 371 watts. Under the same conditions the 2080 Ti reached 433 watts, which means the 3070 consumed 14% less power. It also used almost 30% less power than the RTX 3080. We’re looking at a similar power draw to the RTX 2070 Super, so a very efficient GPU indeed.

In terms of performance per watt, the GeForce RTX 3070 is the most efficient graphics card we’ve ever tested, delivering 9% more performance per watt than the 3080 and 17% more performance per watt than the 2080 Ti.

It’s also 59% more efficient than the 7nm Radeon RX 5700 XT, so it will be interesting to see how AMD can improve on that shortly.

Cooling

The RTX 3070 is the new and much more affordable 2080 Ti. In making that comparison, you get 3GB less VRAM, but make up for that with improved power consumption, shaving off about 60 watts. That means it’ll be possible to make more compact graphics cards, or larger models that run cooler and quieter.

Gaming in 4K

The performance in games and 4k resolution is slightly below a RTX 2080 Ti but clearly faster then the old RTX 2080 Super. For most games, the performance is sufficient for 4k and maximum details. Enabling raytracing however (without DLSS) will lead to a significant lower performance (although the RTX performance was clearly improved compared to the RTX 2000 series).

The GA104 chip is produced in 8nm at Samsung and the power consumption of the RT 3070 is specified with 220 Watt (RTX 2070 Super – 215 Watt).

NVIDIA 3070 graphics card customer review

An MSRP card for 1440p 144hz

It took a lot of time out of my weekdays every other week for a month and a half but I DID IT.

This card is perfect for 1440p 144hz AND is at MSRP, which is a huge plus in these times with gpu shortages and such. The card is sleek and simple with the metal around the sides and built extremely rigid and is heavier than you’d think when you first pick it up.

I have this paired with the 3700x (the 5000 series was difficult to come by when i bought it) and there is no bottlenecking at all. My frames are almost always 100+, except for places in ARK that have a lot of structures, but that game’s also poorly optimized so that’s too be expected. I play all games at epic/high settings which looks great and gives me plenty of frames for it to be a very smooth experience.

Good luck to everyone who’s trying to get a gpu, it’s difficult but it’s possible with some dedication and luck. I would recommend to anyone to join a notification server on discord, they’re so helpful and the reason I got a card.

Cons

-Moderate ray tracing performance-Slower than the 3080 at 4KAdvertisement

As a red team alternative to Nvidia’s high-end graphics cards, there have been few finer than the RX 6800 XT. A highly competitive card that comes so close to its rival, with a nominal performance differential to the RTX 3080, is truly an enthusiast card worth consideration for any PC gamer with 4K in their sights.

It’s a tough call between it and the RTX 3080, but the latter pips AMD to the post with the final touches à la RTX. The RX 6800 XT is $50 cheaper, delivers high 4K performance and a hefty VRAM increase over the RTX 3080. However, it’s easy to argue that an extra $50 dropped on the RTX 3080 is money well spent: a small price to pay for greater 4K performance, much-improved ray tracing, and DLSS.

All are available today and with two year’s worth of developer support in the bank. That said, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution is gaining momentum among developers, and offers solid upscaling worth enabling in supported games.

Yet we’re still big fans of what AMD has managed to accomplish with the RX 6800 XT, a return to form for the Radeon Technology Group that injects some much-needed competition into the GPU market and offers a worthy red team alternative for any high-end gaming PC build.
