Build
The Besenergy EV Charging Station uses an aluminum alloy body and PC alloy plate. This increases its durability and allows you to enjoy the unit for a long time. You can also benefit from a simple button start mode for added convenience.
Design
It is a wall-mounting charging station. It has an elegant and easy-to-use design, and can easily blend in with your white-painted garage. The charger is well made and so far reliable. The display is a nice bonus. I can see how long the charge took and how much power was drawn in that session.
Display
The 2×3″ display updates specifics of charging progress. runway style external light indicates process off/on. connecting cord length sufficient to run under car to other side if necessary.
It indicates actual-time charging Amperage, precise charging Voltage, overall kilowatt intake, present temperature. Just Insert The Plug to The EV¯s Inlet and the Charger Will Automatically Detect the Connection Status and Handshaking Protocol then Start Charging, Automatically Repair Minor Charging Problems. While Charging. the Lights Will Blink in Different Ways to Indicate Different Problems.
Cable length
Cord length was the main feature I was looking for, and at an advertised 27 feet this caught my attention; it also had reasonable reviews at this price point.
NEMA Plug
The EV charging stations need no assembly – just plug in to your existing NEMA5-15 or 5-20 receptacle or install a 5-15R or 5-20 socket, plug in and start charging.
Charging speed
The Besenergy EV Charging Station needs a 240V plug and has 32 Amps, providing up to 7.6 kW. This makes it way faster than any typical Level 1 EV charger. You can use it to charge your vehicle in just 3 hours. working within a range of 100V – 240V. The 32Amp model charges at 7.2kw/hour giving 26 miles of range per hour!
Installation
As for installation, I had to buy the NEMA outlet and 12awg 3 conductor (you can get away with 2) wire (yellow). This whole time I thought I had to run new wire to my garage in order to connect a level 2 charger.
I ended up having a 40 amp circuit to my garage already in which I was able to add a double pole 20 amp breaker in order to wire up the plug for this charger. My install total was about $60 for the outlet, wire, and breaker.
