Design

One of the tiniest robot vacuums we’ve examined, the Eufy RoboVac G30 is 12.8 inches in diameter and 2.85 inches tall. Three physical buttons are located on the top of the device: a Recharge button in the center, an Auto Cleaning start/pause button above, and a Spot Cleaning button below. The top is attractively designed in black and blue. At the top is a Wi-Fi status light.

The RoboVac 11s and the RoboVac 30C, the brothers of the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge, are the same size. It is just 2.85 inches tall and 12.8 inches in diameter, which is an inch smaller than the Neato D4. More low clearance furniture can be moved beneath it than the 3.4-inch Shark Ion R85.

Brush & dustbin

The RoboVac G30 contains a path-tracking sensor, drop sensors, a side brush, and a main rolling brush on the bottom. The 600ml dustbin inside contains an E11 high-performance filter. The RoboVac G30 has 2,000Pa of suction, which is significantly more than the 600Pa of the Roomba 675. When you turn the vacuum over, you’ll see a little roller brush sandwiched between two rubbery wheels.

The RoboVac G30 Edge’s rubber and bristle combo roller is the same as the ones found on the RoboVac 30C and the 11s. The bristles are heavy-duty. The G30 Edge has a tri-spoked rotating brush in the top left corner. On the upper right corner is a path-tracking sensor.

Cleaning modes

The RoboVac G30 thoroughly cleans your house in a methodical manner. It incorporates route tracking sensors and a gyroscope so it can move in a straight line and keep track of where it has been. The robot cuts grass in straight lines in Auto mode, just like you would. In Spot mode, it cleans a certain area for two minutes in a spiral pattern.

Suction

There are four different suction settings available for the RoboVac G30: Standard, Turbo, Max, and BoostIQ. The default setting is BoostIQ, which automatically modifies the suction power based on the floors in your home and the amount of debris being picked up. As BoostIQ is turned on, the suction will be increased when it passes over carpets and extremely filthy areas.

The G30 Edge’s hard-hitting suction power is 2000Pa. Your floors will be significantly cleaner because to the powerful 2000Pa suction force, which ensures that more debris is cleaned up from all surfaces.

Sensors

The G30 robot won’t fall down stairs thanks to its anti-drop sensors. You should frequently wipe the sensors clean and utilize physical barriers to block off areas where the robot might fall because the sensors lose their effectiveness when used on carpeted or very dark floors or when they become dusty. Last but not least, make sure to keep the robot away from moist locations and to build physical barriers to protect it from places like fireplaces and other potentially hazardous regions.

Smart Dynamic Navigation 2.0 comes with the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge. When compared to robotic vacuums that clean at random, Smart Dynamic Navigation 2.0 enables deliberate cleaning thanks to the Path Tracking Sensor.

eufy robot vacuum app reviews

The EufyHome app can be used to control the RoboVac G30 as it does not come with a controller (available for Android and iOS). It’s easy to configure it to operate with the app. If you don’t already have an account, simply download the app and do so. Once you’ve added the robot to your account by pressing the plus sign, set it up on your Wi-Fi network by following the on-screen directions.

Simple controls for the EufyHome app are located on the lower part of the home page in the Eufy RoboVac G30. Starting a cleaning, selecting the suction power, charging the bot, starting a spot cleaning, setting up a schedule, and seeing cleaning history are all possible from this point. When the bot is operating, an animation, a running timer, the number of square feet cleaned, and the battery level are all displayed.

The EufyHome app has a number of extra capabilities that are accessible by tapping the Settings menu. First, you can give friends or family members who have the EufyHome app installed control of the bot. If the robot gets stuck under a couch, another feature called “Find My Robot” has it play a loud tune until it’s found. Additionally, the G30 Edge has manual controls that provide the user total control over the device’s forward, left, and right motions. It’s a fun way to pursue the dog, but you have to keep pressing the phone’s virtual buttons to keep the vacuum moving.

Smart device integration

You can command the RoboVac G30 and G30 Edge with your voice thanks to their compatibility with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. It is simple to set it up to function with either voice assistant if you are familiar with the procedure. If not, Eufy provides guidance and troubleshooting advice under the app’s Smart Integrations area (accessible from the top left menu).

Difference between eufy robot vacuums Performance

It’s not overly loud on Auto mode, which you’ll probably use the most frequently. The Roomba 675’s comparatively loud operation is one of my few grievances. Contrarily, the RoboVac G30 didn’t annoy me, even with BoostIQ turned on, which Eufy cautions can raise the noise level. The RoboVac G30, according to Eufy, can operate for up to 100 minutes on a single charge, although BoostIQ shortens that time.

It cleaned for 88 minutes in Auto mode during testing with BoostIQ turned on before running out of juice. It then successfully found its charging station on its own. The iRobot Roomba 675 lasted 104 minutes in contrast.

The trash can was entirely loaded with dust, dog hair, food scraps, and feathers that must have fled my pillows after those 88 minutes. My carpets had excellent vacuum lines on them, and my floors appeared considerably cleaner. With an overall pick up average of 88.94%, the G30 Edge was a mediocre cleaner and scored lower than both the Shark Ion R85 and the cost-effective iLife V3s Pro. However, it narrowly edged out the Neato D4 and its sister, the RoboVac 30C.

It should be noted that the G30 and the D4 were tested in a different environment than the R85 and the 30C; once we have had an opportunity to retest the R85, we will update these numbers. Dog hair on hardwood was vacuumed up in 96.5% of the cases, however some hair was also coiled around the roller brush.

Also drawing a “woof” was the RoboVac G30 Edge’s performance when it came to pet hair on carpet. It gathered up 78% of the Golden Retriever hair that was scattered around the soft surface, which is 20% and 6 points less than the Shark Ion R85.
