Sceptre 35 inch curved ultrawide 21 9 LED creative monitor QHD review

Build

The Sceptre C355W-3440UN has an anti-glare coating on its screen. You can work on it and play games even in bright environments without any distracting reflections forming on it.  Its thin bezels give it a sharp look. There are also three red color strips present on the backside of the monitor that adds an aesthetic touch to the monitor. Its overall build quality is decent. The plastic used is strong and durable.

Design

The Sceptre C355W-3440UN is a 35-inch 3440 x 1440 (WQHD) curved monitor. It has an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a curvature of 1800R. The Sceptre C355W’ measures 32.96 x 14.87 x 4.82 inches and weighs 14.6 pounds, and has a pair of 3-watt speakers. Other features include a 3440 x 1440 (2K) resolution, 92 percent sRGB color gamut, 6ms response time, 320 cd/m2 peak brightness and 3,000:1 contrast ratio.

Connectors

On the back of the chassis, you’ll find two HDMI 1.4 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port and a single DisplayPort. The monitor would do with at least single USB port that would boast the extra power of charging smartphones and other gadgets. A single 3.3mm audio input means you can plug headphones or a gaming headset right into the monitor instead of snaking a cable around to your PC, and the monitor has a pair of its own speakers.

Ergonomics functions

It has a V-shaped stand that doesn’t wobble. In terms of ergonomics, you are only left with the -5/15-degree tilt capability. You cannot swivel the monitor, adjust its height, or rotate it. There are five buttons placed on the bottom right-hand corner of the lower bezel. They help you navigate the OSD menu. They are responsive and easy to reach. You can effortlessly wall mount this monitor using the 100x100mm VESA pattern.

Viewing angle

This monitor has wide and comfortable 178-degree viewing angles. There were no shifts in color, brightness, and contrast levels when viewed from various angles.

Resolution

It uses a 3440 x 1440 resolution panel to deliver crisp pictures and vivid colors underlain by a 100Hz refresh rate, 320 cd/m2 contrast ratio and 4 millisecond response time. This is a solid spec sheet for a widescreen monitor at this price, and the inclusion of Freesync support makes things even better for enthusiast gamers.

Brightness

It has a brightness level of 320-nits and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. The high contrast levels combined with the monitor’s curvature adds depth to the images and make them look realistic. Blacks appear darker and whites appear brighter. You will have immersive gaming and movie-watching experience.

Aspect ratio

The Vertically Aligned (VA) technology used for the screen allows for wide viewing angles and enhanced colors. For gamers, adaptive sync technology that seeks to reduce screen tearing and artifacts during gameplay, and if you’ll be using it for office tasks or general productivity, you’ll appreciate the 21:9 aspect ratio and the gentle curve that makes it comfortable to use.

G-Sync

Another important feature is the FreeSync and G-Sync support. This monitor works flawlessly with AMD and Nvidia cards. You can enjoy gaming without worrying about screen-tearing, stuttering, and lagging while gaming.

Refresh rate

for the gamers who need to play the latest AAA games at very high settings, you can always seek high-res alternatives, like the 34-inch Alienware AW3420DW with its 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response rate, Nvidia G-Sync and a 1900R curvature. If you’re switching over from a 60Hz monitor, you’ll notice a lot of difference in the smoothness of video games. Trust me when I say this. Once you are habituated to the 100Hz refresh rate, you’ll not want to go back to the 60Hz monitor.

Added feature in Sceptre 35 inch curved ultrawide 21 9 LED creative monitor QHD

With the PBP and PIP capabilities provided by this display, multitasking has never been simpler. PBP (Picture-by-Picture) allows you to divide the screen in half by showing output from two distinct sources on the left and right sides. PIP (Picture-in-Picture) is also supported for split screen, however it varies in that one source appears on the main screen while another appears in a sub window. This curved display removes the need for a second monitor setup by providing excellent clarity throughout every inch of our screen.

Performance review

If you’re having ghosting while playing graphically intensive games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Control, etc. where you cannot reach 100 FPS, turning off the overdrive option in the OSD menu can help minimize it.

You can turn on the overdrive option in fast-paced games like CS: GO, PUBG where you can reach 100+ FPS. This will let you game without any ghosting no matter whatever game you play.

Sceptre 35 inch curved ultrawide 21 9 LED creative monitor QHD customer review

Simply incredible!

I got this monitor to replace my LG 32″ 2k Monitor, and WOW!!!! What a difference!! Gained 3″ more inches and the curved wide screen is such a treat to look at as compared to the LG where I was literally straining my neck looking up at the whole screen. Now I literally just look left to right and keep my neck level due to the widescreen. Playing Doom Eternal on 2070 GTX on this monitor in mind blowing! The 100mhz is more than enough with a good video card to really power through the toughest of games. I truly would recommend this monitor to anyone!

LG 34GK950F-B

LG has done it again.

The LG UltraGear monitor is the best gaming monitor in its class. It’s brimming with high-performance features that will leave you in a state of awe while playing your favorite games.

It’s a 21:9 34-inch monitor with an aspect ratio of 3440 x 1440.

The refresh rate is an impressive 144Hz, with 1-millisecond motion blur reduction. It provides pinpoint accuracy at the most crucial moments in the game.

The 5ms response time does not disappoint, either. It is a near-perfect, almost completely borderless monitor that immerses you within the game and provides an incredible experience overall.PROS

  • Nano IPS with VESA Display HDR 400 delivering the most accurate color depictions and a broader contrast ratio than other models
  • Ergonomic design for truly immersive gaming ambiance
  • Super-thin bezel mounting so that the monitor practically melts away while you’re playing (adding to that right-in-the-action feeling)

CONS

  • Poor black uniformity that will give you some ghosting and “flash lighting” on a completely black screen
