Design

The vacuum weighs 13.7 pounds when fully assembled, and 8 pounds in handheld mode. Shark NV352 is combined with parts that are generally sturdy. Plus, the vacuum features an easy-to-repair and semi-modular design, with a bagless bin and lifetime. The Shark Navigator NV356E is a 2-in-1 vacuum, meaning you can use it in upright mode or with the canister detached to get into hard-to-reach places.

  • Total Weight  13.01 lbs (5.90 kg)
  • Weight In Hand  2.91 lbs (1.32 kg)
  • Carrying handle  Yes

Accessories

The vacuum comes with three helpful accessories: a crevice tool, dusting brush, and pet power brush. These accessories can be attached to either the extension wand or the handle, depending on how much reach you need.

  • Shark Navigator Lift-Away vacuum
    • Vacuum body
    • Dirt compartment
    • Wand
    • Main head with brushroll
    • Hose with handle
    • 1x post-motor HEPA filter
    • 1x foam pre-motor filter
    • 1x felt pre-motor filter
    • User Guide
  • Various tools and brushes
    • Crevice tool
    • Soft bristle brush (attached to crevice tool)
    • Upholstery tool
    • Hard bristle brush (attached to upholstery tool)

Indicator

A green light will illuminate to indicate that the brush is on. If there is a jam or blockage in the motorized brush, the light will turn red to notify you that there is a problem. With the push of a button, you can remove the canister and use it to clean hard-to-reach places.

Brush

For upholstered household items that are more delicate—like lampshades, window blinds, and drapes, the dusting brush did an excellent job. Since it’s ideal for pet hair and ground-in dirt, we also tried out the pet power brush on the stairs.  The crevice tool, which has a narrow suction tube, worked great in tight corners and hard-to-reach areas such as windowsills and furniture ledges.

Filter

The has three filters—two pre-filters and one exhaust filter—offering allergen filtration. Shark claims they’re “lifetime filters,” requiring cleaning only every three months

The foam filter is washable (wash it every 2 to 3 months). Check it at least once a month to see how dirty it is. The HEPA filter, according to comments, is also washable but only use running water, don’t throw it into a washing machine.

Dirt cup

One of the vacuum’s biggest advantages is its high-capacity dust cup—an impressive 2.2 dry quarts—which is almost double the capacity of other Navigator Lift-Away models. This means you don’t have to empty the vacuum as frequently.

Suction

It has an advanced cyclonic technology that gives continuous suction power and prevents dirt from clogging the filters.

Assemble

The first great perk of the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional is that it’s easy to assemble. Once out of the box, we had the vacuum put together in less than ten minutes. The instructions are clear, easy to follow, and include diagrams to help you identify each part and see how they attach to one another.

Cleaning

This vacuum can be configured into three cleaning modes to target all areas of your home. There are two separate settings on the vacuum—position “I” for bare floors and position “II” for carpets and rugs.

Shark NV352 Navigator Lift Away upright vacuum review Performance review

This upright model is powerful and delivers excellent cleaning results for all types of surfaces and upholstery. It works exceptionally well for removing pet hair, which is a plus for any pet owners. Easy to assemble in just 10 minutes, the Shark Lift Away is convenient to use, covering a wide cleaning path.

Its detachable 2-in-1 Lift Away canister makes it easier to carry around the home, and clean a flight of stairs in half the time. Although it looks bulky, it’s incredibly lightweight with a swivel head that effortlessly glides across surfaces.

A removable hose that allows for 80 inches of extended cleaning may be the Shark’s greatest feature. When you’re finished with the hose, it firmly snaps back into the cleaner body, doubling as the handle. The hose can also be used when the main vacuum unit is detached from the floor brush.

Shark NV352 Navigator Lift Away upright vacuum Customer review

Keeps up with 3 furry pets; Powerful. Easy to use.

The Shark – Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a good and powerful relatively lightweight vacuum. The cord is long, the handle is a comfortable height, and the vacuum swivels so it’s easy to push and get around furniture. It has powerful suction and is height adjustable so it works well on different types and lengths of carpet.

The roller can be turned off, which is convenient if you want to use it on bare floors or decorative carpeting with long tassels. Some things that I would have liked more of is on board tools, this only comes with 1 extender crevice tool and 1 little combo duster piece which I don’t know what it’s really called.

The dirt cup is an ok size but of course space is taken up by the filter, and It’s easy to empty. You can remove the whole center section of the vacuum and use it with the hose and extender crevice tool or other tool if you want to vacuum higher places like vents on a wall or ceiling fans, or go up the steps while vacuuming the baseboards, etc…

Easy to use- makes vacuuming seem like less of a chore! It’s been over a year since we got it Oct 2020, and it’s still working just as well as it did the 1st time we used it, which is saying a lot because it has to keep up with the fur of 2 cats and 1 long hair dog that sheds a lot! We’ve gone through a bunch of vacuums, all brand names, thru the years, and this Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is definitely the best one so far!

Kenmore Intuition Bagged

  • Vacuum Type  Upright
  • Bagless  No
  • Cordless  No
  • Anti-Allergy Filter (HEPA)

Get the Shark if you want a vacuum that incurs virtually no recurring costs, but consider the Kenmore if you want the superior filtration performance that comes with a bagged vacuum.

This vacuum does a superb job of cleaning bare floors, though it does struggle slightly more with pet hair on this kind of surface. You can disconnect its canister from its main body and carry it around, making it easier to clean hard-to-reach areas. It comes with a motorized turbo brush, a combination upholstery cleaner/crevice tool/dusting brush, and a hard bristle brush.

If you prioritize the cleaner means of dirt disposal that come with a bagged vacuum, consider the Kenmore Intuition Bagged. It does incur higher recurring costs than the Shark Rotator Lift-Away ADV, but since it uses a dirtbag, you shouldn’t need to worry about a plume of dust releasing when emptying it. Thanks to its onboard HEPA filter, it should also be effective in trapping allergens as you clean.

Unfortunately, it lacks a surface height adjustment feature, so it can sometimes have trouble climbing over some low-lying obstructions. Its bulky design can also make it tricky to clean under tables and chairs.
