Design
Shark Navigator Freestyle SV1106 is relatively lightweight, so moving it around your home doesn’t feel like a workout. Tilt the vacuum cleaner’s body back and it turns on the rotating brush bar. Then, it’s as simple as pushing the vacuum cleaner around. Thanks to its 3.4kg weight, this cleaner is easy to push around.
Filter
Shark has used a two filtration system in this cordless vacuum cleaner.- a mesh filter located on the top of the dust cup and a form filter at the bottom. These work very well together and will do a good job of keeping what goes in the canister inside it. Dust is the worst when you are vacuuming.
Head
It does also have a series of LED lights on the head which can highlight things like pet hair and bits of food the kids thought they could hide under the front of the sofa. The swivel head is so precise and easy to maneuver that it fits snugly around tight furniture and sharp corners.
Dust cup
The Shark Navigator Freestyle SV1106 has a relatively big 0.16 gallon (0.64-quart) unit. This can be removed from the vacuum’s body, and both ends can be opened up for easy emptying and cleaning.
Cleaning
The Freestyle SV1106 offers 2 speed settings. This is an excellent feature as it allows you to match the speed and suction to the type of dirt and debris you are cleaning. As you can imagine, dirt and small dust particles and larger bits of food spillages all require a different setting for optimal cleanliness. The Freestyle’s cleaning path is a wide 10 inches, which covers a lot of ground.
Battery life
In Carpet mode, the Shark Navigator Freestyle SV1106 will last for up to 12 minutes; in Bare Floor mode it will last for around 17 minutes. This isn’t a huge amount of time for cleaning, particularly when it takes four to seven hours to recharge the cleaner fully.

The Shark Navigator Freestyle SV1106 is super-easy to use. There’s a single button that you tap with your foot to turn on the cleaner in Carpet mode. Tap it again to switch to Bare Floor mode, and then again to turn it off.
Massive amounts of long and short hair (human or animal) can be picked up using the SV1106. The hairs do not get tangled up in the brushes, nor do they clog up the tubes, making for a smooth and glitch-free experience.
The Navigator Freestyle did a decent job cleaning up debris along the edge of a wall, collecting all of the material that we laid out, though it took a few more passes to achieve this than the top-performing models in our test.

Perfect for small apartments and homes
I needed a new vacuum, or vacuum-like product when I moved into a small apartment. The first time I ordered the Shark, it came in a beat-up box with half the parts missing. I returned it and Best Buy sent me a replacement that was complete. I had it assembled in about 10 minutes and that includes wrestling with plastic and styrofoam packaging. I left it to charge over night and it worked great the following morning. I haven’t had any problems since. The cheap plastic construction makes it nice and light weight. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for households with heavy-duty vacuuming needs or high-activity households where it might get knocked around a bit. It is perfect for me in a small place with light use.
