Build

It has a fairly premium appearance and feels quite sturdy. The Shark AI Robot AV2001WD feels well-built. Its hard plastic construction has a matte finish, and its main drive wheels have rubber treads.

Design

The Shark AI Robot has great portability weighing at 12.84 pounds. Its dimension is 12.52 x 13.52 x 3.48 inches. It comes with Black & Brass Finished design.

Shark AV2001WD AI vacmop Filter

It comes with 2 filters and requires maintenance. Lightly tap the filter to remove debris every time you empty the dust bin. For a deeper clean, rinse the filter with water once a month. Allow the filter to air-dry for up to 24 hours before reinstalling. Do not use soap or scrub the filter. This will damage the material.

Brush

The Shark AI features two side brushes and a self-cleaning brush roll on the bottom. With a combination of fins and bristles, the brush roll combs through pet and human hair, filtering it into the dustbin so it doesn’t get wrapped around, a common problem with other robot vacuums.

Water tank

The cleaner reservoir is easy to fill and it attaches right behind the dust bin, so it can vacuum and mop at the same time. You fill the whole reservoir with the included cleaning fluid at the ratio of half the cleaner and half water.

The Shark AI Robot has a few quality-of-life features. It has three power settings: its energy-saving ‘Eco’ mode, its default ‘Normal’ mode, and its high-power ‘Max’ mode. Max offers the most suction power, but also drains the robot’s battery the fastest. Eco offers the least suction power, but drains the battery the slowest.

The Shark AI also offers a new UltraClean mode for single rooms, high-traffic zones, and Spot cleaning. In UltraClean mode, the robot increases its suction power and vacuums the targeted room or area two times in a crosshatch pattern. This mode is especially useful for cleaning pet hair and carpet.

Battery life & Charging time

The Shark AI Robot’s battery performance is fantastic. On its high-suction ‘Max’ setting, it provides roughly 90 minutes of continuous runtime. Using it in its more energy-efficient ‘Eco’ suction power setting extends its runtime to over 200 minutes, though it’s worth noting that batter performance can vary in the real world.

Apps – Shark AV2001WD AI vacmop 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop

You can command it to clean or return to the dock, and if you don’t know where it is, you can locate it.

You can access firmware updates and let the robot map the home so that you can select which room it cleans.

This app also allows you to check the battery life, set different cleaning modes, schedule cleaning times or see the cleaning history, and create virtual boundaries to prevent it from entering certain rooms.

You can control it from your phone via the SharkClean app (available for Android and iOS); with your voice via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant; or by using the physical Clean and Dock buttons on the top. The SharkClean app is well designed, and makes it easy to control the robot and use its smart features, including scheduling, area cleaning, virtual no-go zones, and cleaning history reports.

Life saver vacmop for pet owners

Pros: Has good suction and vacuuming capabilities. Really picks up the dirt and dog hairs off your hard floors, tiles, and carpet. Has good sensors that detects pets or large objects in its path (doesn’t really pick up on small object like ex; hot wheel toy car), plus very good mapping of your home and navigation. The mopping is very good as well, you can tell the floors are getting good sweep. Works well in tile, hardwood, and carpet. Very easy to use app and mapping of home, easy scheduling and no-go zones set up. Battery life is pretty good as well, and nice feature that if it runs low on battery it will return to dock and recharge to resume cleaning job once charged again.

Cons: might get stuck on more furry/thick carpets like mine but to be fair this was probably designed to vacuum normal home/apt rugs but that’s my personal con. The water in the reservoir really doesn’t last even on the low setting of wetness. My home is 1,600sqft and there’s about 1,300sqft that’s accessible to vacmop and it can never do the whole house on one full tank. So the mopping option might be good when you’re home and can refill so it cleans the whole house, or when you’re out to target certain areas. (Not terrible for the size of the tank but want to let you know).

Conclusion: DEFINITELY recommend it for common vacuuming and targeted sweeping of small areas when at work or away. Once home you can fill the reservoir and have a complete home mop. I believe people expect these vacuums to be somewhat of a home deep clean, and NONE can offer that. These are meant to upkeep your home so that your cleaning is MINIMAL and effortless. You’re still going to have every now and then to put your input into your home cleaning, but if you own pets this is a LIFESAVER. Hope SHARK comes out with a self-emptying unit later on, that would make it even better. But I give it a 4-star because for what it’s meant to do, it does the job. Go for it! Get it!

Shark AV2001WD AI vacmop 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop alternative

 iRobot Braava jet 240

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Multiple cleaning modes
  • Replaceable battery
Cons
  • Must purchase washable or disposable replacement pads-
  • Drags dirt around
Specs
  • Size: 6.7 x 7 x 3.3 inches
  • Weight: 2.7 pounds
  • Mapping: No
  • Smart home compatibility: No

For less than $200, it’s an easy way to keep your floors clean without lugging out the mop and bucket on a daily basis. While it doesn’t have the customized mapping and other bells and whistles found on the Braava jet m6 or on many hybrid robots, it will leave your floors cleaner than it found them.

The very small and very budget-friendly iRobot Braava jet 240 is particularly good at cleaning small spaces, but still impressively quick when cleaning larger areas. For first time robot mop users, the Braava jet 240 is a great starter device. We were impressed at how well it cleaned edges and liked the fresh scent left from the disposable cleaning pads when it was done.

There are three types of proprietary pads made by iRobot that work with the Braava jet 240: a white, dry sweeping pad; an orange, damp sweeping pad; and a blue, wet mopping pad.

Each type of pad is available in a 10-pack for $7.99. Reusable, washable pads are available in addition to disposable ones. A set of three reusable pads, which includes one of each type, is available for $29.99.
