Electrolux Ergorapido stick cleaner lightweight cordless vacuum review

Build

The Ergorapido is metallic purple with orange accents, whereas the UltraPower is metallic dark blue with orange accents. LED “headlights,” a see-through nozzle, and flexible tubing that makes it extremely maneuverable.

Design

At 5.5 pounds, the Ergorapido is the lightest of the “traditional” stick vacs, while the UltraPower weighs 6.3 pounds, and the Linx weighs 7.3 pounds. The Electrolux Ergorapido lithium ion vacuum stands at 42.5″ (approximately 3.5′) tall and contains a low profile head The slender stick design is also light enough to be hung on a wall by the “nail slot” etched into the back of the vacuum.

Accessories

The Electrolux vacuum includes a dusting brush, a HEPA filter, and a crevice tool, all of which make up the cleaning accessories. Over time, these parts will need to be replaced, but they are fairly inexpensive.

It includes the following parts and accessories:

  • HEPA Filter
  • Charging cable
  • Crevice tool
  • Dusting brush

Press the 2-in-1 button on the front of the vacuum and the handheld unit will release for use. A separate brush attachment for the handheld vacuum is even included with the purchase. the Ergorapido’s 14.4-volt battery is nickel-metal hydride — common in handheld vacuums. It offers only two cleaning modes — normal and high.

Brush

Dusting Brush is designed for dusting elevated surfaces, like bookshelves, windowsills and similar.

Dust cup

Dust cup is transparent, allowing the user to check type and amount of vacuumed dirt. Since the dust cup is relatively small, it should be emptied after almost every use.

Filter

Main air filter is washable, decreasing the overall maintenance costs. After being washed, it should be thoroughly dried – never assemble the unit with wet filter and never use the unit with wet filter or without the filter.

Brush Roll Clean technology.

It allows you to detangle hair or other particles without having to remove the brush and clean it manually. Just turn on the vacuum and press the lever located on the right side of the nozzle. That will release another lever inside the nozzle that “combs” through the brush to help with small particle buildup.

Charging & Run time

Once you have removed the unit from its packaging, you can plug it into the power source and allow it to charge for at least 4 hours.  Once it is fully charged, the vacuum is able to run for about 21 minutes. Two buttons affixed to the top of the stick are used for turning the vacuum on / off and changing the degree of suction.

Electrolux Ergorapido stick cleaner lightweight cordless vacuum Cleaning performance review

Sand and sawdust is very stubborn and vacuums with stronger suction generally outperform their less powerful competition. The Ergorapido did very well here, picking up 99 percent of the mixture on hardwood, 62 percent on mid-pile carpet, and 64 percent on low-pile carpet. If your stick vacuum cleaning efforts center around small bits of dust and dirt that sink into carpets, the Ergorapido isn’t a bad choice.

It is picking up 57 percent of the Cheerios on hardwood, 73 percent on mid-pile carpet, and 77 percent on low-pile carpet. While the carpet scores aren’t terrible, they aren’t as good as the Hoover Linx, Gtech AirRam, Dyson DC59, and, on low-pile carpet, the Shark Rocket. Like the Electrolux UltraPower Studio, the Ergorapido had a tendency to alternate between pushing the Cheerios around the floor and rolling on top of them like an all-terrain vehicle.

Maneuver

The Ergorapido is incredibly easy to maneuver. I love the bendable tubing on the back that makes it so good at making turns (and where the UltraPower had trouble standing upright, the Ergorapido seems much better at snapping into place and staying put). Add in the fact that the Ergorapido weighs nearly a pound less than the UltraPower.

Electrolux Ergorapido stick cleaner lightweight cordless vacuum Customer review

Cute & efficient

I bought this to replace the Ergorapido Ultra 1022, which I had for 5 years and loved until it began losing power. This is an upgrade in several ways: 1) It’s slightly slimmer and lighter. 2) It stands up on its own, which the Ultra did not. 3) The lithium ion battery):battery is more powerful and needs only 14-16 hours to recharge as opposed to 24; I can’t vouch for the fact that it lasts longer because I’ve only been using it for a few days, but I’m sure it does.. 4) It doesn’t need a recharging stand, just the little plug-in adapter. 5) It’s smoother and glides more rapidly – really feels streamlined and rapid like its name. 6) The buttons and the way everything fits together also feel a little lighter and more ergonomic. 7) The color (aqua with white dots) is adorable and brings a bit of fun to the job.

So far I love it, just like I loved my previous Ergorapido. I considered a Dyson, a Kenmore, and a Hoover before purchasing this but all had major drawbacks or unnecessary features, and I find the Ergoparido has always fit all my needs (laminate floors, 1300 sq ft, occupied by 2 mature people with no pets, kids, carpets, or major allergies). By the way, Electrolux has superior U.S.-based customer service and that is one of the main reasons I trust them and remain loyal. The purchasing process through BestBuy was easy and it was delivered right on time. Happy girl here. P.S. The only photo I was able to see before purchasing was a stock image that was an artist’s rendering and makes the polka dots look much bigger than they are. I’m attaching a couple of photos with this review so you can see more of what it really looks like..

Alternate of Electrolux Ergorapido stick cleaner lightweight cordless vacuum

Tineco A11 HeroBest midrange cordless vacuum

The A11 Hero tackled pet hair without too much trouble as well. Barely a trace of the material remained after the machine vacuumed midpile carpeting and hardwood floors. The Hero left some strands visible when traveling across our low-pile test carpet. Midpile carpeting usually causes vacuums more problems.

As the second-best performer in our current test group, the Tineco A11 Hero represents an outstanding deal. So much so that it has officially bumped the Shark Rocket Pet Pro Cordless out of our top pick for best midrange cordless vacuum. With an average 72.5% sand pickup from midpile carpeting, and 82.5% sand removal from low-pile carpet, the Hero performs better. This cordless stick vac also costs less than the Shark, a fact that’s hard to overlook.

The design of the Hero isn’t too shabby either. Its dustbin is almost as easy to empty as the Rocket Pet Pro. The bin’s release valve is tricky to engage compared with Shark’s model. That said, its battery pack is removable. There’s also a handy trigger lock lever to keep the vacuum running without constant finger pressure.
